I wiped tears from my eyes as I watched the ceremony, feeling such pride and happiness for Christophe. He deserved this, this joy he had found with one he so obviously loved and who loved him in return. I was so happy for him that it pushed down the jealousy that I knew was there. He had what I so desperately wanted, someone to belong to. I knew the jealousy would surface later, I wasn’t a good enough person for it not to, but for now I was just happy for him.

A lump grew in my throat as she spoke. Her words made me want to cry and kiss her and sweep her up in my arms and take her home. But I made myself wait, my fingers tightening on hers, until the priest spoke again. I wasn't sure how I managed to wait that final moment, but I did.
"Now that Christophe and Malabelle have given themselves to each other by the promises they have exchanged, I pronounce them to be husband and wife, in the name of Elua and his Companions," the priest said, a smile in his voice. "You may now kiss the bride."
I grinned and then leaned in to kiss her deeply, my arms wrapping around her frame.

Trying not to crush my bouquet, but not really caring if I did, I wrapped my arms around him and returned his kiss passionately, filled with love.
“Let it be done,” I heard the priest say and knew that was it, we were husband and wife. I was so happy I knew I was just going to burst with it.

I had thought the ceremony touching before, but then the couple said their vows and tears rose in my eyes. The love they shared virtually shined in the air around them. It was a sight any D'Angeline would be blessed to see. Later I would be a little jealous of my former Housemate, but right then I could only experience the joy of the moment.

I watched the ceremony with all the emotion of a stone. I smiled when I saw Christophe smile, after all, it was he I was really here for. Hearing Mala speak mad me feel nearly physically ill, and I had no idea how someone as twisted as she had managed to come up with something that would sound touching to her new husband and all their guests. Absently, I bounced Synnove on my knee. At least I had her. I smiled and clapped with all the other guests when they kissed, though. If Christophe was happy today, then I would be happy too.

I applauded joyfully, unable to believe how truly blessed Christophe was. They looked radiant together and I didn’t bother to wipe the tears of love and happiness that trickled down my cheeks.

Standing up there, I watched as they exchanged vows, and watched the tears spring to their eyes as I felt my own well up with unshed tears, until they spilled over down my cheek. When the Priest had finalized the vows, and the two lovebirds kissed, I applauded loudly, with a wide grin on my face, clapping between wiping the tears from my face. I stepped back a step so that I was out of the way, and they could share their moment together. it was splendid!

Our kiss went on for a long moment before it ended, and I was still grinning. "I love you," I said to her.

“I love you too,” I told him, smiling more than I ever had in my life. “Shall we get to celebrating?”
Part of me wished we were going to be alone as soon as we left the temple, but I was alright with waiting until the celebrating was over as well. We had the rest of our lives together.

I watched, feeling odd at the situation. On one hand I felt jealousy toward Christophe, marriage was something that I had been looking forward to, but I had yet to find a worth while woman. But with that came a strange sense of pride for him, he was my brother after all, despite anything that had happened, and despite not wanting to admit it openly, I loved my siblings.
I clapped with the others around me, smiling as I looked to Karina and the look on her face. She seemed happy and for a brief moment I wondered at what might happen if she and I were compatible... if we became anything.

I chuckled. "Yes, I think we should," I told her. I turned back then for a moment to the priest and priestess. "Thank you," I told them, and they both just smiled and waved us off. I wrapped Mala's arm around mine and led her down the aisle admits the applause. Gods, I had a wife...

I clapped along with the rest as the couple began their exit. One glance at Soleil was enough to tell me how she felt. I thought it was cruel that Christophe had invited her, but then again, it had been her choice to take the invitation. In some ways, my old friend was far stronger than I.

I looked to Anacrasia, giving a pleasant smile, though I was sure it wasn't in my eyes. "A lovely ceremony, wasn't it?" I asked, as we began to file out. I knew she knew how I really felt, but today was not the day for airing dirty laundry. Besides, objectively, the ceremony had been lovely.

I held tight to him, feeling as if I might float away as we left the temple.
“I am so happy,” I told him, with a smile.

I stepped down from the altar after they had mstaretd to move down the aisle, with a wide grin on my face. I looked around as the others that had gathered still clapped and watched the happy couple leave. It was then that I realised that, aside from my family, I knew no one here, and I wished that I had of had the courage to ask to invite Abby.

"I am too love, so happy." I couldn't stop smiling, and leaned in to steal another kiss. "Thank you for being my wife," I whispered.

"That was beautiful," I said to Pierre. It was as if the glow, the magic of the ceremony had affected all of us, and I couldn't stop smiling. "Just beautiful."

I watched almost absently as the pair made their way down past us. I didn't want to look at them too fully, or for them to notice me too much. I had to imagine it wasn't really going to happen anyway, but never the less I avoided the possibility of eye contact. When finally they had passed I looked to Karina and grinned a little. "It was," I replied softly, my hand coming up so that the back of my fingers brushed against her cheek. "Beautiful." For a moment I just smiled at her, thinking that it was her that was truly beautiful. Then I rose slowly and reached down to offer her my hand to help her from her seat.

"It was," I agreed as I followed Soleil out, knowing Jareth was behind me. "And Synnove was wonderfully quiet. You're so good with her."

"She's a good girl," I said. Synnove yawned, laying her head on my shoulder. "Did you take a carriage here?"

I joined the crowd following the happy couple out. I wondered how long I would stay at the party. It seemed as if most of the others in guests were paired up even with a friend. I didn’t want to stand around holding down a corner of the carpet.

"It makes me so happy to be so," I told her with a tender smile before I helped her up at the carriage. I grinned to Henri before climbing up after her. "I'll see you back at the house," I told him.

He turned to me, and did the most intimate and tender of gestures. Who would have guessed that the drunk I met all those weeks ago would turn out to be such a romantic? I took his hand and stood. "Thank you," I said with a smile.

I closed the door behind us and hit the roof. In but a moment we were heading home, to our fete, and my lips were pressed to Mala's lovingly.

I took Karina's hand and we followed the others to the waiting carriages, bound for my brother and sister-in-law's home.
