I picked up some soap and scrub brush. "May I wash you, Monsieur?" I asked.

I at last gave a full word answer as I stepped in and lowered myself “yes.” I turned my back towards her and felt a little odd. This sort of indulgence was certainly not something that was available in my homeland.

Lathering up the brush, I began to scrub his back. The dirt and grime came off easily, and the stench began to dissipate.

I let out a little sigh and let her work on my soiled skin and back. I was really trying not to be angry with every d’Angeline but they tended to not make the task easy.

Lifting one of his arms, I scrubbed the whole thing and his underarm. The water was beginning to turn brown, but at least he smelled far less vile. I moved to do his other arm, before saying, "If you'll just sit on the edge of the tub, I can clean your legs and feet, Monsieur."
