I giggled a little at that, despite the pain in my back. "I can't imagine sleeping all in one big room like that. There's no privacy." When I looked around, I realised we were getting closer to Alyssum house, and I was so glad for that. All I wanted to do was lie down and sleep for a bit.

I nodded. "I suppose men are not as concerned about privacy as women, although, I am a fine one to speak of women." I shrugged. "It was just one more thing I had to become used to, but I must say I much prefer having my own room, however small."
In no time at all, we had reached the top of Mont Nuit, and I glanced around, shielding my eyes from the winter sun. "Which one is Alyssum, my lady?" I asked. "I know Mandrake, but have not had cause to visit any of the other Houses."

I pointed in the direction of Alyssum House, off to the right and down the street a ways. "Alyssum is the third House."

"The third House," I repeated, glancing in the direction her finger indicated. Perhaps it was merely due to the fact that I seldom visited, but I thought this part of Mont Nuit seemed quieter, or perhaps the louder patrons were near Orchis House, or perhaps Byrony. Actually, it seemed quite appropriate.
Truth be told, I did not wish to burden her with having to answer my many questions. There were some things one did not tell even one's brother, and it had been a long time since I had spoken to another adept.
The walk to Alyssum did not take long, by my estimates, but it could have been due to my long strides than the actual distance, but soon I found myself staring up at Alyssum's gates.
"We have arrived, my lady." I said, nodding towards the building.
