Thread Hiatus policy[/u][/i]
Hiatus: Should you be involved via RP with a player that has now either become inactive due to Real Life situations or simply abandoning the board and their posts. A player is allowed to place their thread on hiatus.
Inactive: Is defined by a players lack of posting for 30 days.
If you happen to find yourself in a situation where a player has been inactive or absent for 30 days, you must contact a member of staff and let them know. A note will be made on your account, and you’ll be free to place said thread on hiatus leaving you a now open slot in the 4 thread count system.
It’s very important that if a player returns, or if you are in inactive player returning, communication must be made between the players as to what you wish to do with a thread. Since most threads tend to have a shelf life, the staff and management ask you to consider first to abandon the thread after agreeing to a situation that would have logically concluded (i.e. Fetes that have already ended, threads that are from months previous according to the board time line etc.). We also ask you to consider making sure that the last post in a dead thread mentions that the thread is indeed closed.
Some threads may be continued as is; this will be at the discretion of the players involved. Either way, you must contact a member of staff to let them know if there has been a change in Hiatus status.
As a suggestion, should a player return and wish to finish an important time line, this can always be done by stating that the thread is a “Back posting”. Noting the time frame at the beginning of the post and changing the title to include “back posting” may allow players to post threads that are not time sensitive. But to be sure, you must remain within the limit of 4 threads even if you choose to do back postings or stories.
