I was a little confused by her sudden change in tone. I wasn't sure of I would like the answer of not. Either way I must hear the truth, even in a manner like this. I sat the bread down, even before I could take a bite of it. "Of course. Please, speak you mind." I said, unconsciously lowering my voice as well.

I had to stiffle a bit of a chuckle as I looked at him, he looked quite serious, I wondered if all D'Angeline men we so... straight. "I would very much like to get drunk." I said gently as I looked at him, my smile bright despite the warmth in my cheeks. I wondered how he would take something like that, I would imagine it wasn't common for the woman here to say such things.

Well... this was an odd circumstance. And goodness no, I was a sort of exception as far as d'Angeline men go. I lived by my own set of values which came from reading tales of brave Aragonian knights and the like. In them women never asked to get drunk so I had no precedent on what to do in this situation. her smile did seem to give me some comfort.
Slowly I passed my own bottle of wine to her. "Right now?" I asked. I decided that I would allow her her intoxication, but I would behave a perfect gentleman, as I always have.

I laughed, leaning back as I did, enjoying his reaction. "No, not right now." I replied. "I mean when we go to the Black Boar, whether it be tonight or tomorrow." I explained further as I shook my head a little, quirking a brow as I did. "Whats the matter, never seen a woman drink a man under the table?"

I nodded, still a bit perplexed. "I cannot say that I have seen many drunk women period." True in the army many men certainly saw their share of drunk women. I on the other hand kept to my quarters on such nights, planning new strategies or the like.
"So...tomorrow or tonight, or both?"

I smiled. "Tonight." I said softly. "And I guess you'll get a taste of Alban woman in the process." I felt another blush on my cheeks; this one from the teasing nature of my comment that seemed to carry a hint of flirtation behind it. But why not?! I was free to do so, I had no suitors and no responiblities; besides what was a little harmless flirting?

That was my philosophy as well...harmless flirting was about as much as I had ever done. "I will see you tonight then Mairin." Her name sounded different coming out of my mouth, not as pretty. I then ate that piece of bread that had been waiting for me through this conversation.

"Tonight." I smiled and picked up my sandwhich as well, taking a bite into is as I felt myself near bouncing with excitement on the inside. Gods! It hadn't really occured to me how stiffling the social culture was here, not until I was faced with some one thinking it odd for a woman to drink. I wondered quietly to myself if Guy had ever seen a woman hold a sword either.

Well I was a poor example of the culture. But of course I now expected all Albans to be like her...and perhaps I was right. I soon finished my plate of cheese, taking each piece into consideration. "Eight o'clock?" I asked, more out of the need to say something than actually needing a reminder.
