I had chosen to take a few hours away from my volunteer duties at the medical clinic, in order to go out and spend some tiem in the fresh air and sunshine. It wasn't long before I found myself in Elua's Square, sitting cross legged on the edge of the Fountain with my shoes sitting beside me and my toes dipping into the cool water. I had always enjoyed being near the water, and this fountain had become one of my favorite places in the City since I came here two years ago.

I was on duty today, going about my business, but I was nearing the end of my shift and I felt myself lacking in enthusiasm as I wandered. Dressed in my Courcel livery as was my usual uniform, I made my way down my usual path past Elua's Square. I glanced here and there, keeping an eye open for situations that might need my assistance; that was till a red head at the fountain caught my eye.
I'm not sure why but I made my way over to her, her hair like a strange beacon and I smiled gently before I reached her. "Thats illegal you know," It wasn't of course, but some strange boldness took over and it let out that teasing nature within me. "I'll have to arrest you." I noticed her robes then; sky blue, a servent of Eisheth perhaps? It looked like it to me and I found myself intrigued at what she was doing sitting on the fountain ledge.

I was startled out of my semi-hypnotized state, caused by the sunshine glinting off the water. Glancing up and over my shoulder as I mooked for whoever it was that had spoken, I blinked when I spotted a man wearing the blue uniform of one of the City guard. I knew he must be teasing, but I pulled my feet up out of the water anyway, tucking them under the edges of my robes, then smiling softly as I pointed out a group of children across the fountain. "I'm sorry, and I'm sure those children will be most apologetic as well. If you really must arrest us, can you promise to put me in the cell with them?"

I glanced across to the other side and then looked back at the girl and chuckled. "Oh I don't know, those children look dangerous. I wouldn't want them to hurt you, they seem like the type that would take advantage of some one as beautiful as you." Damn it man! What are you doing? I felt like an idiot, opening my mouth again and saying something that could get me in trouble. "Forgive me, that was uncalled for." I hook my thumbs into my belt and shook my head, glancing around and hoping that despite the heat I felt in my cheeks that they weren't red.

I had to laugh then, cupping my hands over my mouth to muffle the sound. When I took a breath, I lowered my hands and looked back to the children, who were still happily oblivious, splashing about in the water. His comment about my beauty, well, I had been willing to overlook it, since we were both in uniform. Until he apologized, that is. Then I smiled and looked up at him, shading my eyes with a hand, "Compliments are uncalled for?" I teased, "Are you sure you're d'Angelline?" I laughed again, my free hand covering my mouth, as I took in his attempt at a tough posture.

I looked at her chuckled. "They can be uncalled for when you're a member of the Queen's guard." My smile was easy and I was enjoying the banter, young though it might be. "One may think I was trying to take advantage of them."

I smiled once more, then picked up my shoes and stockings and stood, letting my robes fall around my ankles. As I looked up at him, I momentarily questioned why I was teasing a Guard like this. I could only tink that he reminded me of my brothers for some reason. I couldn't seem to help myself, though, and my next words proved it. "And when you're not a member of the Queen's Guard?"

The corner of my mouth curled upward in a wry grin at her question. "When I am not a member of the Queen's Guard, I am Pierre Legard of Camlach." I replied. She was quite attractive, though I towered over her slender frame, something I some how enjoyed. Her eyes were blue like mine, but some how different, and her hair... Gods! I don't think I had seen anything like it before and all I could think of was touching it. Camael! I had to loose this desire that was filling up my belly.

I was delighted when I heard his name. "Camlach? My father was from there." I laughed, "Come to think of it, his name is Pierre also." I smiled and clapped my hands, then offered one, "Well met, Messire Legard. My name is Aimée Demarais."

I had to smile even wider at having met some one who descended from Camlach; the name sounded familiar and I wondered if our parents had ever met. "Well met Madamoiselle Demarais." I replied smiling, taking her hand to shake it. Not common, I thought, but it gave me a chance to touch her. Damn it man, mind on the matter, not.... your head.

I was surprised when he shook my hand. That wasn't quite whet I'd been expecting him to do, but I thought he was probably trying to stay professional. So I extended him the same courtesy. "And you as well, Messire." I smiled gently, and since I'd noticed the heat in his touch, I glanced around for somewhere to sit. "Would you care to join me in the shade of the tree? I know you must be weary after marching about for so long."

I hadn't released her hand yet, I couldn't get my fingers to uncurl from around the delicate frame of it. "Yes, that sounds lovely." I replied. "I'm almost finished my shift anyway." I added before finally willing my hand to release hers. "Lead on my lady."

I relaxed a bit when he let go of my hand, which he'd seemed to have trouble with. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that he would soon be free, and as I led the way to a bench in the shade of the tree, I smiled up at him. "Well then, that's good news."

"Indeed." I replied as I followed her and then sat next to her on the bench. "Its been a long day and a longer week." I added. "And you, where are you coming from?"

I nodded, completely understanding. "I think it must be, yes." I was glad when he sat down next to me, "I was volunteering at the medical clinic. I do that three days a week." I smiled, "It makes me feel good to be able to help people."

I looked over her for a moment. "Priestess of Eisheth?" I was pretty sure she was; I may have been a small time country boy but I wasn't such an idiot that I couldn't tell she was a Priestess.

I nodded happily, then picked at my robes. "It was the robes that gave me away, wasn't it? Or was it the volunteering with the ill and injured?" I laughed lightly, "How much longer did you say you have to be on guard duty?"

I chuckled softly at her comments about her robes. "Not much longer." I replied with a relaxed shrug. "Why, did you have something more exciting then sitting in mind?" I asked with a little grin.

I shrugged, "Perhaps," This man intrigued me, but I'd never been one to be coy, so I expanded upon my answer. "I do believe I like you, Pierre," I laughed, "Despite almost being arrested, and if for no other reason than that you were so willing to save me the horror of being locked in a cell with all those dangerous children." I laughed again and ducked my head, then rolled my eyes up to look at him from beneath my lashes.

Mighty Camael; were all girls in the city this... alluring? The way she laughed, the way she looked up at me through her lashes; my heart raced faster at thoughts I tried to push away. "Then, perhaps we should go for a drink, or dinner?" I said smiling, trying not to let my mind and my groin run away with me. "I have to return to the barracks, but I could meet you in a bit." I chuckled. "Or you can come back with me to the barracks and see where I live." I teased, knowing that no woman in her right mind would want to see that, especially all the dirty men running around.

I smiled in return, then looked up. "I would like that." I wrinkled my nose and shook my head, pretending to be sad, "No, I think I should go back to the Temple, at least for a little while. I would very much like to see you later, though." I tilted my head in consideration, "What did you have in mind for dining arrangements?"

I smiled gently, feeling a flutter of pleasure in my stomach. I thought about places I would want to take her for dinner; Nights Doorstep seemed a little to low key, so I settled on some where in the Temple District. "How about the White Hart?" I asked curious if she had been there before.

I nodded, pleased at his consideration. "I've been there a time or two, it's a very good place to eat." I smiled, then offered him my hand again, wondering if he would just sahke it again.

I smiled, please more then ever, and then rose and took the hand she offered me, helping her to her feet; but this time I let my thumb brush against the top of her hand. "Excellent," I replied softly. "Shall I pick you up, or would you like me to meet you there?"

His touch as he helped me stand sent a thrill down my spine, and I had to supress a shiver of pleasure. "I would very much enjoy it if you could meet me at the Temple." I paused, "I'm assuming, since you sadi you were from Camlach, that you must be a scion of Camael?" I gave him a curious look before continuing, "Have you ever been to Eisheth's Temple?"

Once again I held her hand for far too long as I smiled down at her. "No, I've never been." I said softly as my heart began to race. "Are you going to give me a tour?" I asked, cocking my head to the side a bit as I contemplated her.

I realised he was still holding my hand, and supressed another shiver, though not as well as I had before. I smiled, the idea had merit. "I would be honored to give you a tour." a pause, "And perhaps we could dine there, after I show you around?"

I raised a brow, my body warming quickly and I witnessed a shiver from her, making me have my own. "You're not going to get in trouble for that are you?" I asked, leaning toward her a little but willing my body to stay put, I didn't need a scene in the square.

I blinked, surprised by his question. Smiling, I shook my head in negation, "Why would I get in trouble for someone showing interest in my Lady's Temple?"

I chuckled, blushing as I looked down, not able to meet her eyes. "Forgive me my lady," I said softly. "My mind wanders to things that shouldn't be thought of." My gaze returned to hers and I smiled wide but released her hand finally. "I should be returning now; may I meet you in two hours time?"
