I was near bubbling; Ana was returning from her trip and we'd be free to come live with her. Things had been strained since Sarielle told her sister to leave, not to mention how boring it was. Erie had a young lady that he was completely enamoured with, whom it was he wouldn't tell me; needless to say he wasn't around much and when he was he was usually writing about her.
Either way I was near bouncing when the carriage pulled up to her town house.
"I'm excited to see her, aren't you?" I asked Erie.

I offered my sister a weak, gentle smile. "I suppose." I replied absently. She simply crossed her arms and looked out the window as we slowed to a halt. "Cheer up." I said and reached over and pinched her arm. She jumped but only shot me a glare; I had to smile a little and stepped out of the door before she could say anything. I then offered my hand to her and she stepped out with my help before slapping my arm. "I suppose I deserve that." I replied with a cheeky smile.

I raised a bit of a brow to him as we walked toward the door and I knocked. "You seem to be in a good mood." I said as I looked over my shoulder at him. "I suppose its due to your new mysterious lady friend?" I asked.

I shrugged, sobering slightly at her mention of Sophine. I knew it sounded strange but I didn't want to talk to Eros about her; there was something about keeping my relationship with Sophine a secret that made it special. That and I didn't want Eros to tease me about it. "I suppose." I replied and looked forward to the door, waiting for it to be answered.

It seemed that the world didn't stop just because I took a trip. Camlach hadn't exactly been restful, though Jareth had certainly enjoyed himself. Now I was back, with work piled up in my absence. One key item was the arrival of Marisol's children. Seemed their grandfather had sent them to the City without waiting for a response from me for his last letter. No real harm, they had stayed with Sarielle. It was an annoyance though, their grandfather should have waited until I had returned.
And so now they were coming over for tea. I hadn't seen either Eros or Erie since they were quite small, I wondered if they would even remember me. When the bell rang, I answered the door myself. "Hello cousins," I said with a smile. "Please come in and be welcome."

I didn't respond to Erie, instead deciding to leave the conversation to a time that was more appropriate. Either way, the door opened wide to reveal a woman that had been more like an aunt to me then a cousin and I smiled to reflect my inner joy. I sketched a quick curtsy before entering into the house; my inner joy also reflected my inner child which drove me to wrap my arms around her neck and embrace her. "Thank you." I said softly before pulling back and moved out of the way for my brother.

I rolled my eyes a bit at Eros but entered into the house either way, giving her the proper bow afforded a woman of her standing, both as Duchesse and matriarch of the Shahrizai family.

Seemed they did remember me after all, and I was immediately embraced in a warm hug. I hugged Eros back, and then nodded to Erie's bow before closing the door. They were still much the same as they had been as children. "If you don't mind the words, you two have certainly grown up," I said with a soft smile, feeling a little old. "And you Eros, you look so much like your mother. But please, come in. The tea's almost ready."

Anacrasia had seemed to do well on the trip back to my home. She handled my ruff and tumble family with grace and they all seemed to enjoy her presence. Well I did not have to exactly wonder what they thought and I am sure she did not have to either. Unlike Shahrizai one never had to wonder what a d’Aiglemort, was thinking because we had a tendency to make a point of telling you.
But now I was back in the City and finding it a bit less confining after the trip home. So I had agreed to come over to Ana’s place since she seemed to have some family matters to attend. I arrived and handed my mount off to the stable hands and was as always a bit disconcerted about how fast Shahrizai servants hurried to tend matter. I then wandered up to the house and noted Ana greeting what was obviously a pair of her cousins. I made sure she saw me but held back until she acknowledged me as was appropriate.

I smiled softly at Ana's comment. "Thank you Duchesse, that is very kind of you." I replied, blushing a little at her comment. I glanced to Erie who was just looking around the room, hopefully not looking for things to filch.

We all entered the sitting room, and Erie began to roam. The maid arrived with the tea tray just as Jareth appeared in the door. "Hello darling," I said to him with a smile. "Come in. Eros, Erie, this is my finance Jareth d'Aiglemort.

I gave a crooked smile and used her full name since we were in mixed company. "Hello Anacrasia" I then stepped forward and gave her a kiss on the cheek before turning to her cousins. "A pleasure to meet the both of you" I dipped my head while the smile never left my weather worn face. I figured I would follow the appropriate leads on if this was a more formal or informal family meeting and greeting.

I smiled as I looked to the older gentlemen that appeared at Ana's side, kissing her cheek sweetly. I watched him with a smile, studying the way he moved and his obvious appreciating for our Duchesse. "The Camaeline Duc." I voiced out loud though it was meant to be a quiet thought, something I did without prejudce but often got me in trouble; especially at home. "I've heard lots of talk about you." I then said. "Most of good," I gave him a teasing full grin. "I think it shouldn't matter that your not Kushieline, I'm just happy that Ana has found some one she loves." I cocked my head to the side a little, still baring my disarming smile that I usually wore. For the moment I just stared between the two as if almost waiting for them to do something adorable.

I had been off in my own little world, as usual, before I noticed the man at Anacrasia's side. He was much older then I would have thought, and he certainly stood out between us three Shahrizai.
But when my sister started talking I rolled my eyes. "Please forgive my sister, she has the horrible habit of opening her mouth and speaking...." I glared at the back of her head for a moment. "Without thinking." I said at length before I looked back at the pair infront of us. Though I did support the notion that it shouldn't matter to whom she wed; I knew my own uncle and grandfather had much to say about the matter though. Some sort of pure blood mania, spending hours arguing over the matter of the Duchesse and wether or not a woman could run the family. But I had learned long ago, that one does not trifle with a woman, least of all a Shahrizai woman.

I felt a small amused smile grow on my face as I watched the two young people. They did not seem to be as polished predators as some of Anacrasia’s kin I had met. Also the use of Ana’s shortened name made it clear to me this would be a more informal meeting. At Eros’ words I dipped my head a bit “Aye, the Camaeline Duc and no one seems to have taken exception to the fact that the last time our two families got together they nearly destroyed the entire country.”
I then shifted my attention to Erie “And on the contrary young man there is nothing to apologize for. She would actually fit in quite well in Camlach.” I gave a lopsided smile “We are a very blunt spoken and open people. Some would call us brutally honest.” The pair was obviously very green but that did not put me off. Before the passing of my father my main task had been to beat some sense into the young recruits. Often quite literally but I reckoned Shahrizai tended matters a bit differently. It was a good thing Anacrasia and I had already decided our heirs would tend our respective estates separately otherwise the culture shock might turn more than a few brains to mush

I thought for a moment that Erie was going to stop in the middle of his sentence instead of continuing with a qualifier. I had to hide a grin, and went to measure out the tea as Jareth spoke to the twins. I returned with cups and saucers for the twins, and then went back for Jareth and my portions. "He doesn't lie. They are brutally honest, as I just found out. We recently returned from visiting Jareth's estate."

I rolled my eyes and shook my head a little but didn't look to my brother. "What was Camlach like Duchese?" I asked with a smile as I took a cup and saucer and reached out to spoon some sugar into my tea.

“Thank you love” I accepted the tea from Ana and looked toward Erie. I had a wry crooked smile on my face as I responded in complete jest “I would love to but your cousin does not play well with others.” I gave the two ladies a wink to make sure my words were seen as humor.

My smile was amused at Jareth's quip, but I didn't otherwise comment on it. "Camlach was cold," I replied to Eros's question. "Though as Jareth pointed out, it get much colder in true winter. His family was very welcoming though," once they got used to me, "so I wasn't too uncomfortable. And Eros, you know you can call me Ana. You have been since you learned to talk."

I ducked my head a little at her comment. "I know, I just think its more appropriate." I said sheepishly smiling at her but decided to move onto other topics. "Have you set a date for the wedding?" I quiried next.

I looked up at the ceiling by rolling my eyes that direction “I am not so sure being less than the center of attention is a bad thing.” I then looked back down “but at the end of the day I reckon it is only proper to wait till the excitement surrounding the Queen and her betrothed is over.” I left it to the ladies to discuss colors and the like as I was utterly inept when it came to that.

I had a feeling that Erie was going to roll his eyes at his sister, and then Jareth rolled his eyes at me, but I was more than happy to answer her questions. "Red and gold, a combination of our houses," I told her. "Poor Jareth would rather just go to the priest tomorrow, but I keep bothering him with details."

I assumed a seat and for the most part let the ladies handle their hen talk. Though I could not help but adding "I actually think sneaking you out a window in the dead of night sounds exciting." I then batted my eyes at Anacrasia.
