"At least that makes one of us, as you may very well imagine, no one is born into the Brotherhood," I grinned. "There is a considerable lack of eligible bachelors among the Cassilines, which I am told does not encourage women to settle within easy reach of us." I chuckled.
"Hmm, have you heard any good jokes lately? I already know the one about the cow that interrupts its audience. But I am afraid that that is the extent of my repertoire. I do know a few good stories, but they end on a depressing note." I shrugged. "At times I think that my countrymen believe that if they laugh at my jests I will tell them to stop having so much fun."

"I fear the few jokes I know off the top of my head are not fit for ears as chaste as yours," I said, chuckling.

I rolled my eyes. "Camael's greasy cock, man! Do you think me a blushing maiden? My father and younger brother are soldiers and my mother and elder brother are Mandrake adepts. My ears have long since lost whatever chastity they had!" I grinned. "I assume you have heard the one about the man from Namarre? Now, there is a crude rhyme."

“Indeed,” I agreed, with a chuckle. “I am not the best joke teller. There is a great deal of timing in that. My best friend has a great skill at it.”

"There's something for everyone at Orchis House!" I exclaimed, a slightly sarcastic tone to my voice, but I could not help but smile. "Well, it appears as though you have lightened my mood, and it seems as though general happiness prevails, in as much as flowers can be said to be happy." I shrugged. "Beyond hunting down your friends and putting on a show for every peer within hearing, I cannot think of anything else to subject you to, apart from those pleasures of which I am forbidden to partake."

“Well, if you do decide to leave the Brotherhood and partake of those forbidden pleasure, you can always look me up,” I said, giving him a grin and a wink.

"Hmph, and what of your lover?" I asked. "What would she say if she heard you were bedding a man like me?" I grinned suddenly. "And do not say that she would join in, because then I am sure I would not receive any attention. Besides, I hear that being with another man is...painful..." Granted, the only source I had for that information was Landis, and all of his assignations were painful for his patrons.

“My love is an adept of another House, we do not judge who the other beds in our service,” I said, chuckling. “As for it being painful, only if you rush.” I leaned in a little closer, still grinning. “Besides, I’ll let you be on top, no pain that way at all.”

"Well, then I would fear for your safety!" I replied. "But I suppose, if I do end up falling from grace, I will find some coin and be on your doorstep before my dear brother decides to drag me off to Valerian." I did not suppress a shudder at the thought. "Oh, hell, why not contract a female Orchis adept as well and then I can have a turn with both sexes?"

“Should you choose that option, then I will waive my fee as I am fully marqued and you won’t have to spend all that much coin,” I said, smiling. Honestly, I had been teasing him to begin with, hoping to get him to blush, but he seemed far more inclined to the idea than I had thought. He was not fit to be a Casseline, he needed to leave and come visit me.

"Hmph, how charitable of you," I said. "But I jest, I doubt I could handle two adepts at once without feeling inadequate."
I stood and began to brush pollen off my person. It was the one thing I didn't like about this season. "Come, I've kept you long enough. I should return you safely to the library before Orchis House sends out a search party."

“Actually, I should be getting back home. I’ve spent my extra time,” I said, smiling and rising. I extended my hand to him. “It’s been good meeting you, Emile.”

"Indeed," I replied, grasping his hand and shaking it. "Perhaps I will be allowed to stop by Orchis House if Her Majesty does not throw me out of the City of Elua the moment my period of exile is over with."

I laughed. "Well, I hope to see you again," I said, smiling. I bowed slightly and headed out of the garden.
