"Oh as if you're free of drama Erebos." I replied, scowling at his back. His hand raised up and he held up his index finger to me. A little gesture he did to indicate how annoyed he was at me; he usually gave me to the count of three before he would find some sort of punishment for me, usually it was to tickle me. I turned back to Naia. "I'd ask you to forgive my brother, but I don't think there is enough forgiveness on the earth that would make up for his rudeness." I shook my head and picked up another gown, this trunk was almost done, but I had two more left, and Erie hadn't even touched his.

I couldn't really fault his argument, actually, it did seem like we women felt things so much more than men, and so I didn't try to refute him, turning to Eros and chuckling softly.
"I suppose it is a good thing that I am not easily offended, and so there is nothing to forgive." I wondered if my refusal to take offense annoyed him. I know it annoyed me when I was trying my hardest to needle Sarielle and she simply smiled serenely as if nothing I did bothered her in the least. Of course, it probably didn't, what was I but the little sister she had fled to be rid of?
I hung another dress in the armoire, then turned to Eros. "Are you hungry? I could have some food sent up, if you like, or we could go down to the kitchen, if you want to see more of the house."

I grinned to Naia. "Oh, I'd love lunch, I know Erie would to. Perhaps you could take us out, to one of the restaurants you've been to that you like." I said excitedly.

"Oh, that's a good idea," I said, my stomach giving an embarrassing little rumble. I decided that the first day in the City probably wasn't a good time to drag them to Night's Doorstep, and besides who on earth would eat the food at the Gauche? Come to think of it, did they even serve food?
Regardless, I thought Caisse de Pomme would serve in this instance, but then I thought perhaps they might like something different. "Well, one of my favorite places is Caisse de Pomme, but it's pretty standard. If you want to try something really different, there's an Aragonian restaurant in the Temple District, or," and I thought this might interest them, being that Alban anything was all the fashion these days, "an authentic Alban pub." I looked from Eros to Erie, to see what they preferred.

"Oh thats difficult," I replied as I thought, I knew Erie wouldn't care at which one we went to so I knew asking him would be of no point. I raised my finger and tapped it against my chin. 'Well, we'll probably be here in the city some time, so its not as if we couldn't try them all." I began smiling to Naia. "But I think the Alba pub would be more my interest this afternoon."

"I've never been there, but I've heard it's good," I said, hanging up the last dress in the armoire. "If you want to, you can leave the unpacking until later and we can go now." I said, adding, "We can walk, if you like, and you can see some of the City on the way." I found that I was actually a bit excited to show the City to these new cousins of mine, and it was at that moment I realized that I now thought of the City as home.

I was near beaming, I went over to her and took her hand in mine. "I think we should walk, that would be wonderful." I said softly and turned to look at Erie. "Coming brother?"

I had stopped paying attention to their conversation, only catching drips and drabs as I figured out how to peel of the gold leaf of the vase. I'd have to do it at a time where I had more then a few moments, but it could be done. But when I was addressed by Eros, I turned to look at her. "Fine." I said noncommittally and shrugged. "Lead on."

I didn't bother to leave Sarielle word that we were going out, I simply led the twins back down the stairs, through the entrance hall, glancing into the dining room and idly wondering when my sister was going to get the table fixed, and then out the front door.
"This way to the Palace District," I said with a smile. I put on my best tour guide voice and began to point out where we were. "We're in the East Borough... if you go that way," I pointed, "there is the West Borough, usually where higher nobles and people with more money than they need live, and then that way is the North Borough, where you can find people with even more money than the West Borough folks. Living in the City can be expensive, actually, so unless you are hanging about in Night's Doorstep, most everyone has a decent source of funds." I tried to keep my commentary from being too biting, but it was difficult, as I was accustomed to being sarcastic and irreverent.

I smiled and followed eagerly, listening as she spoke, and making notes in my head. I wanted to be sure that I would know where things were in case I became lost, or had to walk a distance. "Do you spend a lot of time in Nights Doorstep?" I asked curiously.

Oh, what a loaded question! I decided just to be honest - if there was a chance we were going to be friends, they would discover my penchant for dive bars and bad drink soon enough.
"A fair amount," I admitted. "I find it refreshing to spend time with the common people." I said, laughing lightly. "Besides, it's easier to have fun in a place where no one expects anything of you."

I nodded as I listened to her, vaguely aware of Erie bringing up the rear, dragging his feet as he did. "Thats exciting." I said smiling to her. "The closest tavern near the estate we grew up at was two hours away by horse." I shrugged a little. "Erie's spent more time drinking then myself, I was more likely to stay home and read." I chuckled. I felt a little strange at the thought, Erie did have a penchant to get into more trouble, I didn't really care when we were younger, but I all of a sudden felt as though I had been missing out.
