I laughed, honestly delighted that he would have taken up my defense. Then I reached over and yet again squeezed his hand before shaking my head. "I think this is the perfect one. And the credit for finding it is all yours." Feeling a bit flirty, I gave him a saucy wink, then a smile, complete with both dimples.

I let my thumb caress over the back of her hand this time as she held mine, giving it another gentle squeeze. The grin she flashed me was lovely. "And a lovely smile. I hope this is not the part where you tell me your fiancee is around the corner and will be here soon to whisk you away, because I would love to take you to lunch," I said, all in one breath, and a smile when I was finished.

I gave a little laugh, then blinked in surprise. "Fiancee?" Another surprised blink, and I shook my head, "No, I'm afraid not." I gave a mock mournful look, bowing my head as if embarrassed. Then I glanced up at him with a look out of the corner of my eye, and winked again. I was actually having fun, and despite my unusual status, which Luc likely didn't know about, I was looking forward to getting to know him better. He was being very helpful, and I was feeling quite flattered by all his attention and compliments. And his blushes. Dipping into a more graceful curtsy that the one I'd given him earlier, I smiled, "I would be delighted to go to lunch with you, Luc."

I laughed at her joke and smiled as she curtsied and accepted my request. "Excellent... though I may have to ask a boon of you first," I said, worrying my lower lip between my teeth to appear worried and innocent, though the roguish smile came back to my lips before too long.

As I stood back up from my curtsy, both eyebrows rose, and I gave him an inquiring look. "Oh? And just what might this boon be?" I waited, and had to grin at his aborted attempt at an innocent look. "Nothing too difficult, I would hope."

"For me, yes, for you, I would think not. You seem to have good taste. I came in here looking for a cloak for my sister to ward off the chill that has started coming in," I said. "The boon would be if you might help me choose something," I said with a crooked, boyish smile, "pretty please?"

I listened while he explined whathe wanted. I coulnd't say just what I thought he might have wanted, but shopping for his sister wasn't something I'd thought of. I couldn't resist it when he asked so prettily, so I nodded. "Easy enough, really. But," I paused and gave him a considering look, dragging out the silence for several seconds.

I looked at her, waiting, then furrowed my brows, then raised one as I cocked my head. "...but..." I said, urging her on. "You've my full attention out with it!" I teased with a chuckle.

I grinned, unable to help myself. Then I relented, "But... you have to promise you'll accept my invitation to the fete. It will be just a small gathering, but new friends are always welcome."

I smiled at her invitation and laughed softly. "Now that need not even be a condition, I would have said yes as soon as you asked me," I said with a grin. "Should I bring something to your fete?" I asked with a smile.

My smile brightened, and I reached over to squeeze his hand a third time. Then I shook my head, "Just yourself. And perhaps your sister." Thinking of his sister made me recall the boon he'd asked of me, and I turned to look down the aisle, "What does your sister look like? Hair color, eye color, things like that?"

I smiled. "I will certainly let her know she has been invited," I said with a wide grin. "Thank you, from both of us in advance," I said with a smile. "And.. she has dark hair, darker than yours and dark brown eyes. She is beautiful, too," I grinned and winked at her.

I nodded, taking in the information he gave me, still thinking about what color would look the best. Then I smiled, and looked back at him. "Of course she's beautiful. She is D'Angelline, and related to you, after all." I thought again for a moment, then nodded again, "I think brunettes always look good in darker colors, like midnight blue or forrest green." I tugged on his hand, the one I had squeezed, "Come on, we'll go take a look at what this shop has in those colors."

I smiled at her as she tugged me by the hand and I went willingly. "Ahh, I am no better looking than any other man," I said with a grin, "but thank you. And I think both of those colours sound good, mayhap the forest green." I held her hand, not too tigtly, but I didn't let go.

I was glad he followed me, barely realising he still had ahold of my hand as I led him down the aisle we had been standing in, and up another. Stopping in front of a rack with cloaks hanging on it, I quickly shuffled several aside, searching for one of just the right color.

I watched her as she searched, like someone on an important mission, and had to smile. "Quite the adept shopper," I said with a soft chuckle. "I would help you but you seem to have this rack under control."

I grinned back at him over my shoulder, then turned back to pull out a pretty dark emerald green cloak made of soft crushed velvet. Holding it up, I turned back and showed it to him. "This is just the color I was imagining. Do you think it would suit your sister?"

I looked at it and instantly I wondered how Josie would look draped in it. Amazing.. actually. I smiled and nodded. "Yes, I think that would suit perfectly, and if it does not, I shall blame it all on you!" I said with a chuckle. I reached my hand forward to caress over the soft fabric, my fingers brushing Rosanna's just slightly as I did. The only thing that showed that I the touch had registered was the smile that deepened on my lips. "Perfect," I said as I looked into her eyes.

I laughed and was tempted to stick my tongue out at him, as I had when I was younger and Corrie had threatened to blame something on me. But I held myself back, merely shaking my head. Glancing down at the cloak I didn't notice at first when his hand brushed over mine. It took a few seconds, then I glanced up when he spoke, and my smile faded a bit, but took on a softer edge when I realised his words were meant for me, not the cloak.

There we stood, our hands on a cloak, looking into each others' eyes, and I had to fight the urge, so strong, to kiss her. I chuckled a little nervously and ran my free hand through my hair. "Well, now that that is settled, and you've your fabric, shall we tend to filling our bellies?"

I blinked when he chuckled and changed the subject. Glancing down again, I just knew my face was turning red. Sighing, I looked back up after a few moments of wondering if I had been too bold with my teasing and flirting. My face was almost under control by that time, and I smiled and nodded, "I'll let you choose a good restaurant."

I smiled, noticing the blush. "You know, that shade of pink is lovely on you," I said with a lopsided grin before reaching for her hand and holding it in mine. "And what do you feel like eating today?" I asked with a smile.

Blinking again, I smiled, and the blush returned. His questionmade me stop and think for a moment. I wasn't really in the mood for anything in particular, so I gave a little shrug. "I'm not really sure."

I smiled and laughed softly, reaching a free hand forward to brush my thumb tenderly over her cheek before chuckling warmly again. "Well, I think I know just the place then," I said with a smile, "if you can trust my judgment. I promise its not as bad as my mixing and matching of colours."

I smiled in return and fell back on a teasing mood to cover my discomfiture. He was reminding me, in a very good way, just how much I was missing out on. Nodding, I grinned, "Oh, I don't know. You did a fairly good job picking out that nice lace." I reached up and patted his cheek, "I do trust you. I think."

I laughed softly. "Second try, right? Not too shabby for a man like myself," I said with a wink. "Was there anything else you were looking for here?" I asked as I looked around at the wares.

I looked around as well, then shook my head. "No, this is all, I think." Glancing back at the rude shopkeeper, who was still more or less ignoring me, I frowned. Taking my things in hand, I cast a quick smile at Luc, then marched over and plunked the things I wanted to purchase down on the counter and cleared my throat to gain some attention.

I watched as she took her things and dropped them with a loud thud on the counter, looking to the shopkeeper. I had to stiffle a laugh, but the way she carried herself I was certainly glad I was not the shopkeeper on the other side of that counter. I walked towards them slowly, eyebrow quirked, wondering what was going to happen next.

It hadn't taken me long to get the shopkeeper's attention, and my frown must have been a big clue that something was wrong, because he was most attentive. Still, I mentioned that I would be having a little talk with the owner, earning myself a glare. After I paid for my things, watchign carefully while they were wrapped in paper, I waited for Luc to finish, humming cheerily under my breath.

I watched as she spoke to the shopkeeper, and chuckled softly to myself. She had a bit of spitfire in her, this one, and it reminded me much of myself. I walked up to the counter when she finished purchasing her items, and laid the emerald green cloak on the counter, paying with the coin in the purse that hung at my waist. The shopkeep seemed less enthusiastic, but then again, a small part of me felt for him. He would certainly get a chastising. Needless to say, he wrapped the item and soon I was joining Rosanna by the door. "Shall we, my lady?" I asked with a carefree smile.
