I had to laugh to myself as the surly shopkeeper wrapped Luc's gift. He likely wouldn't last long after I had a nice talk with the owner. When Luc joined me at the door, I smiled back at him and offered my arm, "Certainly, sir. Lead on."

I took her arm with a smile and a wink and stepped out of the store with her and started walking her in the direction of Cachette. It was a nice cafe I had been to during lunch and I loved the fare, so I hoped she would like it as well. I looked at her as we walked down the cobbled street. "I believe I am the envy of any man right now," I said with a chuckle.
