"They do say that," I agreed, shaking my head slowly. "It makes one wonder if it is really worth all the trouble! It must be, by the lengths some people go to for it." We continued to walk along the lane that led to Cachette, and I added with a light laugh, "My, this conversation is getting me positively maudlin, don't you think? Let us change the subject to something more fitting for an afternoon tea."
Of course, now I had put myself in the position of coming up with another subject, which was suddenly more difficult than usual. I had to laugh at the absurdity of me, speechless. "Well, it appears pulling another topic out of thin air is harder than I anticipated!" I said with a chuckle.

I could not help but to laugh. "Do you mean to tell me I hav eleft you utterly and completely speechless?" I asked, teasingly, though I felt my cheeks heat afterwards. "What is it like at your House. Do you have gardens?" I asked, proposing a topic with a grin, feeling proud of myself that I might have found something to talk about, although it might bore her. That was my new worry.
