His words were comforting, and I felt myself begin to relax. Until he touched my hand, and I suddenly felt like I was drowning. I dropped my eyes to my hand, with his finger running across it and leaving behind a trail of fire. By all the Gods, I think he might be right about that.
I raised my eyes, struggling to regain my composure. "And are you a talented adept?" I asked, barely believing I was saying the words even as they left my mouth. My heart was beating so loudly, I felt as if I would have to strain to hear his response.

I nodded a yes before saying, "I completed my marque five years ago, so I can confidently say that I am talented. I have also had a few loyal patrons."
I trailed my finger toward her finger tips and then ran my fingers inbetween them so that I could lift her hand up with mine, curling my fingers down so that I lightly held her hand, fingers inter-twined.
"Since I do have my marque," I said, my smile showing a little bit of passion, but without my usual preditory tone, "I could give you a demonstration, free of a contract and charge."

It felt like my blood had suddenly turned into fire as his fingers entwined with mine and his words washed over me. Did I dare? I looked into his eyes, and saw no harm there, only desire, and I was both unnerved and flattered that he was interested in me.
"I...I think I would like that." I said, shyly, hardly believing what I was saying. I had never even lain with a man before, and here I was going to go off with an Adept of the Night Court - and a Mandrake Adept, at that. Still, I had come to Terre d'Ange to experience life, and here was an opportunity. I wasn't about to waste it. "When?" I asked, my voice sounding faint even to my ears.

I smiled, her shy response telling me that she was not one to venture to the bedroom with someone she had just met very often. I would have to move slowly with her, but I did not mind that at all. Finding out what a person was comfortable and how far I can push them past that was a favorite game of mine. Of course to really win I had to make them believe they wanted what I was giving them, rather they truly did or not.
I held her hand, still and with my most flattering smile I said, "now."

"Now?" I echoed faintly, my heart near to pounding clear out of my chest. Well, why not? If I waited, I would like as not lose my nerve. I was already wondering what had gotten into me, but I had told myself that if opportunity knocked, I was going to answer it. "No time like the present, right?" I said, smiling weakly. I didn't want him to think I wasn't truly interested, but then I imagined that as a Mandrake, he might have seen this reaction before. I pushed my plate away with my free hand to show him that I was ready to go.

I was glad that she had accepted so readily, I was ready to persuade her that all would be ok, but the need was not there. I would treat her nerves with care though, it would not due to pull her in and then scare her away before I was able to truly enjoy myself.
I stood up as soon as she pushed her plate away and offered her my arm. "Have you a chance to see much of Terre d'Ange?" I asked when she was ready, "if you have a place you would prefer to visit for your little introduction then we can venture there."

I rose and took Idaeus' arm, a little lightly however, as if he might burn me to touch. I shook my head at his question, then said, "No, actually, this is one of my first forays out of my home." I had the thought of bringing him to my house, but I didn't want word of this getting back to Uncle Stavros, and I knew that some of the servants I had brought with me were there at his behest. "Why don't you choose the place. Surprise me." I said, with a little laugh that came out a bit more strangled than I might have liked.

I could feel Daenara's discomfort. I gave her a warm smile and asked, "would you like to take a stroll through the city first? We could go to the Artisan District and look around. You could see the sites and if a place suits your fancy then we will stop."
I emphasized the word if just a little, so that she would feel she had a way out. Though if she tried to take it I had a mind to reel her right back to where I wanted her. Though I would not force her if she insited on getting cold feet.

I nodded, a little relieved at having the chance to walk off some of my nervousness, and to perhaps gain a bit more confidence. "That sounds lovely." I said, smiling at him as we headed for the door. "It will be nice to see the City with someone who knows it."

I lead Daenara out the door, happy to have a new play thing, at least fo the evening.
When we got to the door I said, "I will be more than happy to be your guide." In truth playing guide was not on my list of favorite things to do, but I had a feeling that the reward would be worth the game. As long as she didn't prove to be a complete bore then I would be happy. Her mention of buisness was still in the back of my mind and I could at least indulge her a little more on that.
