"I'm sure your direction will be more obvious when the time comes," I said, smiling. "Discipline is good though, and it's admirable what you are doing for your family name. I am sure your parents are very proud of you."

"Thank you," I said with a sincerely grateful smile. "Very few people think so and I guess it's good to be reassured as to the fact that I'm not completely mad. I've heard many say that it's cruel to birth a child for such a purpose- most assume I'm going to teach it that to not join the House is to be wrong, I guess- but I see it more as giving tradition a chance to succeed."
Looking down at my hands, I laughed a little bitterly, than looked back up. "I'm sorry, I seem to be babbling- it seems that chaotic happenings draw me to deep thinking."

"It's okay, really. I think I'm easy to reveal things to, people seem to do it around me a lot. I think it may be because they associate me with food, which is comforting and they feel open," I said, smiling. I leaned closer to her. "I'm very good at keeping secrets."
I leaned back in my seat.
"As for what you planning, I don't see that it's any different that a King, or Duchess, or any other form of royalty wanting children to carry on their family line and honor. It must be the innate regalness of Dahlia that makes it seem such a clear path for you," I told her, smiling.

"I see it very close to the same way," I said with a grin. "Both about having a child to continue a family line and about your being easy to talk to. However, as I have never been anything but Dahlia I don't know if that makes me think differently or if I think differently and are therefore in Dahlia. Which is cause and which is effect? I'll most likely never know."

I laughed.
"This is the point in the conversation when I usually offer more wine or another serving of chocolate torte," I told her, chuckling still. "I suffer from too much time in front of an open flame to ponder such deep life questions."

Smiling graciously, I smoothly changed the subject. "That reminds me- can I get you anything? I seem to have forgotten my first lessons in courtesy in my enjoyment of the conversation."

Smiling, I shook my head slightly.
"No, thank you. I actually have to be going soon, things to take care of and then back to the kitchen," I said.

Gracefully I inclined my head in a gesture of understanding. "I see. Would you like me to take some of those papers to the Dowayne, or would you like to do so yourself?"

"That would be very kind, thank you," I said, smiling and making a second stack of half a dozen or so. "Whenever your Dowayne feels it is right for the House, is the right time. I am going to give them to the Dowaynes or Seconds and let them decide when best for their Houses. It is always best to defer to those is charge when trying not to step on toes."

"That is a very wise sentiment," I said as I waited to accept the papers. "I am sure that Dowayne Sabrie will be most anxious to have these placed as soon as possible."

Smiling, I handed her the small stack of papers. I stood and gathered up the rest of the stack.
"I should go give out the rest of these," I told her. "It really was a delight seeing you again. It's your turn to come visit me next time, stop by whenever you like, even if we're not officially open."

Smiling, I stood with the papers neatly in hand. "I will, once all of this settles down. Good luck at the rest of the Houses, though I'm sure you won't need it. Let me show you out. Is there anything else I can do for you?"

"Thank you," I said, letting her show me out. "I hope this goes over well once everything has settled down, I think it will be fun."
"As long as you don't do anything that might mar your wonderful taste-testing skills," I told her, chuckling "I can't think of anything else I might need right now."

Smiling, I nodded in agreement. "I've always been told I have good enough taste and I don't see that changing overnight," I said with a bit of mirth. I hope I will get a chance to stop by your resturaunt and see you soon. It's been wonderful speaking with you."

"It has been wonderful speaking with you," I said, smiling happily, I leaned in and kissed her cheek. "Stay well Allisande, I shall see you soon."
I turned and left, heading to the next House.

Softly I closed the door once Plaisir was down the walk and turned on a heel, making my way to the Dowaynes chambers to drop off the papers. At least now I'd be able to have someone tell me what they really said. Damn my eyes- even now I could remember how the letters had moved around. Sabrie would see these placed conveniently about and then I could return to the solitude of my rooms, to wait for whatever came next.
