I arrived a little earlier then half past seven, I was a little nervous about seeing Pièter again, but excited too. I was dressed in a deep green gown with gold lacing and my hair down loose.
I stood outside the entrance waiting for Pièter to arrive.

I had dressed for the evening in dark breeches and a light blue tunic. My servants told me the tunic matched my eyes and I was taking their word for it. I soon arrived in my carriage and noted Lola waiting for me. I stepped out of the carriage leaving it to my driver and approached the lovely Lady of Aragonia “Good evening Lola, you look quite lovely.” I smiled and captured her hand raising it to my lips to kiss the back.

I smiled as soon as I saw Pièter. He was just as handsome as he ever was and I wondered why it had taken me so long to contact him again. I curtsied deeply as he took up my hand and kissed it, a warmth spreading from the kiss up my hand. "Evening Pièter," I said in reply, blushing a little. "You look quite dashing yourself. That tunic is lovely."

“Why thank you” I inclined my head “truth be told I have little sense about such matters but am fortunate enough to have several servants who make sure I appear presentable.” I motioned with my hand “Shall we?”

I chuckled softly and nodded, know the truth of having good staff. "Yes, please." I said softly and turned heading towards the restaurant.

I escorted her in and held my tongue while we were seated. Once settled I tilted my head in her direction “I am afraid I am not familiar with your country’s cuisine so I shall have to depend on you for aid in ordering.” I then folded my hands delicately in front of me on the table “Mayhap you might even fill in some of my curiosity about what you have been up to as of late.”

The atmosphere was lovely and reminded me of home in a good way, and for that I was thankful. "I will help you out where ever I can." I said smiling at him. "As for what I've been up to..." I trailed of thinking. What had I been doing? Coupling mostly, seeing the sights and getting to know the City. "Not much, mostly meeting new people." I chuckled. "You?"

I could guess at much of what she had been doing from her tone. Indeed I had been doing a lot of the same. Though I had forged some inroads for my nation a bit of a literal horse trading venture, some furs making their way in, and a few other trade ventures and I was hoping I was starting to feel a thaw when it comes to commerce. But of course this was the City of Elua and things often revolved around the bed chamber “much of the same though I think those back home are pleased with my accomplishments on the more practical front.”

I chuckled softly and smiled to him. "You're doing good business then." I said smiling. "I wish I could say the same for myself." I added with a blush and a lop sided grin.

I grinned a bit and quirked a brow “Oh? Do tell what sort of business you are interested in.” I was painting her into a corner a bit just for the sheer amusement of it but I hoped she would take it in good humor.

I chuckled, ducking my head a little as I felt a blush rise. "I think all my business pertains to the bed chamber then the commerce chamber." I said softly, my hands in my lap as I glanced at my plate and then at Pièter from beneath my lashes.

I inclined my head in understanding “I find myself in much the same position. As the old saying goes love who one will but your king will tell you who you wed. It is the price of a high birth I suppose.”

I nodded. "Very much so." I said softly, knowing it was too true. It wasn't too much after I answered him that a waiter arrived asking us about wines and I looked to Pièter.
"What would you like to drink?" I asked curiously.

“Water will be fine, I fear I may be drinking a bit much since I seem to have some with each meal.”

I nodded with a smile and looked to her attendent. "Just the house red for me please." I said smiling before turning back to Pièter. "So, I hope you're hungry."

I smiled "Yes, I am" I scooted over toward her so that we might share a menu "though like I said I will leave it to you to help me out on ordering." I laid open the menu then left it for her to turn the pages if she liked while I began perusing the various choices.

I smiled as he moved closer to me and I thought about things he might like. "Well I would suggest the chorizo which is a spicy sausage. Or, hmmm, maybe the pescaito frito, which is a battered fried fish, very good." I looked over the menu and turned page. "The concido is like...uh, hmm...I guess you could call it a stew." I pointed to it on the page. "Its made from...ah, what's the word in D'Angeline." I thought for a moment. "Chickpeas."

I propped my chin in my hand in a way that used to infuriate my tutors but that I had never been broken of “Hmmm, mayhap the chorizo? Fish is run of the mill for my people and I fear that in your presence I need some spice in my diet so that I might match your heat.”

I almost giggled, and blushed deeply as I looked at him for a moment. "Then I would suggest this dish." I said pointing to one of the items on the menu. "Its saffron rice with cut chorizo, onions, peppers and vegetables. I think you might like it."

I thought about making a quip asking if she was the one who liked sausage and I am sure one could see the wheels turning in my head but I was not so bold. Instead I inclined my head and smiled “Very well then that is what I shall have. What are you going to enjoy?”

I smiled to him. "I think I'm going to try the pescaito frito." I settled on. "See if its as good as my home land." I chuckled softly.

I chuckled and nodded. "You're probably right." I said smiling as I saw the server approach.
"I'll have the pescaito frito please." I said when he asked for my order and then turned to Pieter to wait for his order.

I placed my order as well and then settled back and raised my glass sipping a bit. Then tilting my head in her direction I asked “So, do you have any home sickness? I must confess I have not felt any myself and I am not terribly sure what that says about my patriotism.”

I smiled, chuckling a little as I brought my own glass to my lips. "I think I feel the same way." I said smiling to him and nodding a little as I placed my glass down. "Though I think my own feelings come from the unhappiness I felt at home."

“Ah” I inclined my head “I was fortunate in that regard and had a pleasing home life. Though my tour of duty so to speak as crown prince was more than a bit vexing” I titled my head at her “Care to enlighten me about what was unpleasant about home?”

I smiled softly as he spoke but became a little flustered as he asked me about home. "I wasn't a person there," I said softly. "I was just another pawn, a tool, or a toy for sport. There I had no choice of who I dine with, or speak with for that matter. Here I am free to do anything I wish as long as I follow my heart."

I smiled ruefully as I continued to eat “Being of royal blood I am more than passing familiar with the phenomena. Though I did not have it quite as bad as you describe I was allowed many of my own choices and still am. Though it is much more so in this wondrous land yet, still one is schooled in appearances as well as duty that comes with birth.”

“Ah, but how shall you avoid it?” I asked curiously. “I fear one may become tired of it but one may not escape it.” I grinned “Though I suppose either of us could get a bit of escape by marrying in a pleasing manner and mayhap even if lucky we might actually like the other person.”
