"Ah, I see. You seek the benefit of the doubt. Rightfully so. I think D'Angelines understand quite well, second only to the downtrodden, that history is writ by those who prevail, and can often shine a rather dim light on those they dislike. Plus, with our precept, and outlook on life.... " I thought on it for a moment. "And our influence... you were right. I do hope you succeed," I said earnestly. "I can tell you love your people, and just want to supply them with the chance to show that they aren't what they've been made to look like."

“So far so good” I smiled and finished my drink. “But for now I should be going. I thank you for the company and good conversation. It was a pleasing way to pass a bit of the time.”

I nodded in understanding. "Alright, and thank you for your words of wisdom, and your company Pieter. Hopefully we will meet again." I rose, offering my hand for a friendly shake.

“The same to you” I shook his hand and then turned to make my way out. I was feeling my cups a bit and was glad I had taken my leave before my tongue got too loose.

I watched after him as he left. He was a friend that day, and I said a silent prayer to Elua that, in our lands, Elua's hand might guide him to the best routes for the best results. I sat back in my seat, and thought over the evening.
