"Mayhap they'll think we are part of a traveling menagerie," I teased, my grin wide and mirthful again as she gave up her half of the act. "And if you are not careful, Sefirah no Jasmine, I might have to spirit you away. To save you from the mobs that would inevitably gather, of course," I added with a wink, steering her around a couple that was standing still.

I laughed outright. He is just so much... fun! I thought to myself as he whisked us around a stationary couple as they watched us pass. "Well then if that is what would ensue, bring on the mobs! It seems you are my knight for the day," I smiled warmly up at him. "Although there may not be much of me left by the time that occurs, with me wasting away like I am." I was truly famished, having had been out all day. "Just to make sure we are clear on your knighthood duties," I said jokingly, smiling all the while, "should I faint from my feminine tenderness and overexhaustion, you would catch me... right?" I knitted my eyebrows together in feigned worry.

I laughed, blatant and outright, at her flirtatiousness, her zest. "Should any harm befall you, sweet Sefirah, I shall run my heart through with my sword." Pausing, he looked down at his hips before back at her with a mock surprised expression. "Oh, damn, I forgot my sword back at my townhome. Well, lets hope you aren't taken by feminine ways, then," I added, grinning full-mouthed at her. My arm pulled her a little closer; ahead I could see the pastry shoppe come into view.

I laughed at him then, light and trilling.
"No need for a sword, Owen. Truly, a fork does wonders for these sorts of situations," I said while still laughing. He pulled me closer to him and I leaned in, feeling his warmth through his clothing, smelling his light scent. He was very different from many men that I had known, seeming to take everything lightly. I couldn't wait to get to know him better.
