He seemed lighter now, as though he were holding back less, and I moaned a bit more loudly into his mouth as I returned the kiss. Every aspect of him seemed to fill my senses and I let myself stop thinking for the moment, comforted and happy that he'd not pulled away at hearing my desires even as I tried to gather the courage to offer even more.

I wrapped my arms around her, holding her lithe frame tight to mine as our kiss began to scorch. Oh gods how I wanted her...

My blood raced faster and I couldn't manage for a good number of moments to break my lips away in the slightest-but finally my will won out and I pulled my mouth a hair from his with a gasp, a deeper flush on my cheeks. "Please," I whispered as I met his gaze. "I want.."

Afraid I had gone to far when she pulled away, my hands grew still on her back. Her words were broken, and I prompted her with baited breath. "You want what Lessa?" I whispered, uncertainty on my face.

He seemed concerned and I felt instantly bad for having worried him though I smiled and stroked his cheek. "Come home with me," I pleaded quietly. "I want to be with you more."

"Oh Lessa, I want to come," I whispered, my hands moving up and down her spine once more. "But I cannot. I do not want to stop now," I confessed, praying she wouldn't be scared away, praying she would understand. "I do not know if I can stop if we are there."

"You wouldn't have to," I replied, nearly confused but for the fact I thought he believed me still a purely innocent virgin. "What you want is what I want as well."

I shook my head, trying to find the correct words to explain. "I know that it is different here. But I must wait. It is how I believe, to wait for a man and woman to become husband and wife before... some things happen."

I understood his words and accepted them- and even appreciated his nobility the more for them. Still, it was a bit disheartening and frustrating and I repressed an expression of sadness, keeping my features smooth. "So you have never- done such?" I asked softly, wanting to understand as far as I could what his limits were.

I wanted desperately to lie, knowing she wouldn't understand the difference. Knowing that I could possibly ruin my chances with this admission. But I could tell her nothing but truth. "I have," I whispered. "But not with a lady. Not with someone that I wish..." to marry "that I care about deeply."

"Am I so different?" I asked, confused even as I rested my head against his shoulder and my mind worked quickly, trying to grasp what he was saying. "When one cares deeply, isn't that the best situation for such things?"

I opened my mouth before closing it again, wanting to explain correctly. "It is sacred here yes? In my believes, it is sacred only when for a man and wife. If they are not married then it is... just sport. Just exercise."

"It is the willingness and care of the act that are sacred, not the act itself," I explained quietly. "Whether married or not, it is the fact that the people wish it and want to see the other pleased and happy which matters. Besides," I added with an abashed smile and a flush as I peeked from under my lashes at him, "Is exercise so bad? And does the fact it is without immediate vow preclude the fact of such never happening?"

I chuckled as she looked so adorable saying that, but my smile faded. "I am sorry Lessa. I know you believe that, and your words are good. But I can not change my believes all at once," I said sadly, wishing I could make her happy like she wanted.

"I understand," I told him in all sincerity; beliefs were hard things to change, if they were able to be changed at all. It was hard to ignore the ache in my body and heart for more but I could do it, though I couldn't say it would be easy. "But- there are other things-" Perhaps continuing would damn me but I could do nothing but try. "I trust you."

I rested my forehead against hers and shut my eyes, trying to get my hammering heart under control. By the gods she was a tempting woman, and I couldn't find it in me to condemn her for it. "I..." I started but my voice cracked. "I do not trust me."

"You should," I told him, hugging him more firmly. "You are good and noble and pure- and I would put my life in your hands. Even- even if it's only a glass of wine and another kiss, it doesn't matter to me, so long as it's with you."

"Of course," I whispered with a nod. "I only- if you do have to leave and go back to your home, I would like to know we had as much time together as we could. If you don't wish to I will understand, truly."

Even though I knew I shouldn't, I couldn't help but say yes. "No, I wish to Lessa," I replied, stroking her neck softly. "I love to spend time with you."

Sighing both in happiness and relief I relaxed into his caress, eyes half-lidded in pleasure. "Thank you," I told him gratefully, wondering if I was twisting his arm into agreement though his reassurance helped to push such thoughts to the back of my mind. "I love to spend time with you as well."

I kissed her forehead. "Then why do we not go to your house and spend time there now?" I suggested, not wanting her to take chill in the cooling night air.

"Yes, but I need to find my horse too," I replied, her hand small and warm in mine. I paused for another moment before I took a step back so we could start walking.

It seemed much colder without him so close and I fought back a shiver as I took a step toward where the dancing area had been before. "The stables shouldn't be far," I said with a small smile. "And if he'll follow the carriage we can hitch him to the back of the carriage and you can bring him if it makes you more comfortable."

"That is a good plan," I said with a smile. "Maybe you can teach me new words when we are in the carriage?" Something to cool my blood a little before I jumped her right there.

"Auburn," I muttered to myself, tasting the word on my tongue. "I like the way that sounds. We say kashtanovbij in my language. What is your favourite?"
