His voice was pleasant in my ear as he softly sung the tune, and I found between that and the fact that he was a good teacher I had no problems learning, following himself with an ease that would have made my old dancing tutor proud.
Relaxing further into him I adjusted my hold, my arm laying upon his shoulder, fingertips on the back of his neck.

I smiled a happy, inner smile as she toyed softly with my countenance. "This is the basic step, now I should teach you the figure," I whispered.

I glanced up at him as he spoke, wondering silently if he had a double meaning attatched to that, and whether he wanted a reaction for it.
"I'm ready for it," I whispered back, my body geared to move.

"Fantastic," I replied softly, "follow my lead, and trust me. On the third beat, let yourself be supple as you can be, and leave the rest to me."
I started the figure again, half as slow as we had, and on the third beat, I lifted Mirielle in a smooth jump, landing her back into our figure on the onset of the first beat.

I'd trusted him as he asked for, leaving my body as supple and pliant as I could, though I hadn't truly expected to be lifted into the air. He brought me down gently and I gave him a quick, joyful smile as I settled back into the steps, leaving my feet working in unison with his as I looked up to his face.

Lifting her had been a breeze, she was light and pliant, a bird on a dancefloor, a delicate flower plying in the soft summer wind. I smiled back at her, beaming as she was, her joy was contageous.
"Shall we do it once more, Fair Mirielle?" I asked, ready if she was to dance the night away.

"Definitely," I said, finding a certian amount of fun in dancing a new step to a tune I couldn't hear, and somehow doing it with Gillermo made it more so. His hold upon me was firm but not overbearing, giving me direction upon the dance floor as he led, but not smothering me with it. He was a good partner, truly, though I mulled over telling him that.

Together, we repeated the steps several times, and it was always a pleasure to dance with her, her body both beautiful and well trained in the art of dancing. After a while, I broke the silence, and said, "You must promise me, if any, to dance with me at the coronation fete." And as I said it, I knew it was a thing I would be relentless about.

The level of ease he projected as we travelled through the steps was almost contagious, and I found myself flowing through the dance as if it were second nature - thanks in large part to he himself. I glanced up at him as I smiled, giving him a teasingly coy look. "I'll have to see if I can squeeze you in."
My smile became a grin as we continued on, neither promising or no, though I knew should he ask at the fete I would give in. The only other I had promised to dance with thus far was August, and I knew he would be busy there.

Again, she played coy. "Of course, your hords of sedate lovers will be all over you. I'll try not to be a hindrance," I replied in mock humility.

I laughed readily as he gave my tease back to me, smiling up at him. "I promise, Gillermo Stregazza, to dance with you at the coronation fete."

I brought the hand I was holding it to my lips and, smiling devilishly, I deposited a chasted kiss on the back of her hand.
"I will hold you to it, Mirielle Bellamont," I whispered.

There it was again, the quick, almost brotherly peck combined with a devilish look that nearly made me weak in the knees. He was ten degrees of contradiction, Gillermo Stregazza, and I was not sure whether to let myself become enthralled or whether to balk. Likely the latter, but the former was so much more seductive.
Sighing softly, I whispered back to him, my voice quiet and gentle. "We shall see." A reassuring smile was delivered as I brought my gaze back onto his, my hand still secure in his grasp.

"I guess we shall, Mirielle," I replied, assured in the least of having a dance with the divine Mirielle Bellamont.
It occurred to me that we had been on the dance floor a while, and that perhaps the fairy tale could end. Or not. I would leave it up to her.
"Would you like to learn another dance, or shall we enjoy some more of your wonderful D'Angeline bubbles?"

I hadn't realized I was thirsty until he mentioned it, and almost regretfully I looked up to him. "Lets get something to drink if you don't mind," I said, though I was willing to continue dancing a while longer if that's what her preferred. "I hadn't realized I was thirsty until now."

My hand still in her, I gave a slight bow, and replied, "You wish is my command."
However not letting go her hand, I made an inviting gesture towards the table, giving a slight nod to the nearby table where a rather overweight lady was exclaiming loudly her disappointment that we were stopping.

I let him continue to hold my hand as we walked to the table, his intimidating man still waiting. I'd given the exclaiming lady a gracious smile as we moved by her, and, slipping my hand from Gillermos with a slight twist of my fingers, I saw to seating myself.
"Thank you for the dance," I said with a smile, running a hand absently through my hair to release any tangles.

What a tease she was ! I had to summon all my willpower to restraint my hand from going in her hair, so delightfully soft it seems, and the scent of her, I knew was imprinted in her golden locked.
"You're very welcome, mylady," I said with a smirk. "What will you have?"

I took his smirk and gave it back light heartedly, my fingers working out the last of the tangles from my hair. "Wine, I think, whatever the house special is." Finery was lovely, but I was happy equally with the cheaper versions; they did not go down quite as smoothly, but the effect was the same in the end.

I shrugged, "As you wish," and to the lovely lass who had come by, I said, "as you heard, and one for me. Please take his order as well, I said, pointing to To-Biko."
"So, how did you find the Kriti style of dancing?" I asked, genuinely interested.

"It was refreshing," I said, smiling warmly at him. "And in all good honesty it makes me yearn to visit there even more. How did you find your stay? Was it as pleasurable as it sounds?" I glanced at his large companion as he ordered before looking back to Gillermo, honestly curious as to his answer.

"Kriti was... interesting to say the least. They have interesting traditions, most revolving around the cult of the ox. They also grow fantastic olives and make excellent dishes, sunny and tasty. The Kriti are a fascinating people, superstitious, warm and refined. I would return gladly," I replied, looking her straight in the eye as I said it.

"Mmm," I mused softly, leaning my chin into the palm of one of my hands as I watched him while he talked. "Perhaps we'll meet again in Kriti some day in a local tavern," I said, smiling softly.

Toying with my wine glass, my eyes planted in hers, I replied, "Perhaps I could return your invitation after our tour in Azzalle, and take you to Kriti." A thought crossed my mind, and I smiled, adding, "it would render your stay confortable. I have relations there."

It sounded like a fairy tale, something I'd never participate in, though the idea of it was as seductive as Gillermo himself. "It's settled, then." I smiled before leaning forward a touch more, the hand I was leaning on dropping into my lap. "Though, dear Gillermo, I never did promise to take you on a tour of Azzalle."

"Oh, play on words, my beloved Mirielle, I believe your exact formulation was 'I would like to invite you to visit Azzalle at any time.' A standing invitation is better than a promise," I concluded, amused at the turn of events. "But I would never dream to impose on you," I added soberly. And indeed, it would be interesting to travel with a female companion, one of such spirit as she had.

"Absolutely. I would like to invite you to visit Azzalle at any time, but I did not promise my role as tour guide." I gave him a grin, clasping my fingers together in my lap. "Still, if I considered your companionship an imposement then I never would have agreed to make a deal."
Whether or not the deal would indeed happen was anyones guess, but it did not hurt to play out as if it were to. And if it were, I had a feeling it would be fun.

"Oh, such fine specimen of D'Angeline perfection as you has higher callings then that of a entertainer, even for a character such as my illustrious self," I added in mock boast.
I added a bit soberly, "Perhaps, however, we should be less ambitious, and I should start by entertaining you in my home one of these nights, should you feel a taste for it."

I smiled, coming close to laughing again at his merry little boast before sobering some with him as his voice turned more serious. A soft sound of contimplation was given as I teasingly considered him for the third time, tilting my head slightly, looking at him from head to toe. "I don't know..." I said at last, struggling to keep the jesting smile from my face. "You're charming and handsome in the light of a tavern, but what shall I find in your own home?"
My teeth showed as I grinned at him, giving him a silly gracious nod. "I accept, Gillermo Stregazza, if you but tell me where your home is."

I thought for a moment. In the line of my duties, I had access to the foreign guest quarters at the palace, and it would be where I would stay, officially. But my mother's family had a townhome in town, and Cascata, very likely, would be there more often then most, although it would have been my estate, had I not relinquished the title of Marquis to my sister. I voted against the two women meeting just now, and chose the Palace.
"Of course, Mirielle. I would gladly invite you in the South Wing of the Royal Palace," I replied.
