I laughed at that. "Of course," I said, as though that had been the answer I was expecting. "We are a land of many appreciable pleasures."

“Yes,” I replied with a look that said much about my appreciation of certain pleasures. “So I am told, and I am thankful for a chance to explore something so different from what I know.”

Finishing up my torte, I found my self filled with a bit of rare brevity. Rising, I walked around the table to where he sat. "I also," I said a bit breathlessly, "am happy to explore something different." Hesitantly, I laid a kiss on his cheek.

She was flushed, and as she moved around the table to meet me, I deposited the utensil on the plate, smiling at her softly.
How tenderly tentative her movement, and yet how bold! Yet it did not deter me, rather stoking my own flame. Her lips on my cheek were fleeting and soft, perfumed with innocence, and I turned my own that I may capture her lips with a kiss that was just a little less chaste, though gentle and tender, respectful as it should be.
My hand moved to touch her arms, not daring to wrap her into my arms so soon.

My stomach fluttered and jumped as our lips met. His lips were soft, sweet, supple, and his age and experience was very evident. Ah me! I felt my knees growing weak as his warm hands touched my arms. This was a kiss that I wanted to last forever. I did not dare break it.

She accepted the kiss, and I deepened it, keeping it as innocent as I could, not wanting to go too fast, to make her fear me. Gods, but she tasted of innocence and sweet fruit, and I imagined how she would be in a bed of plush pillows, my hands caressing her, discovering her supple and young body. I had to stop, lest I tumble her. I wanted to do this right.
Against her lips, I whispered, breathless in desire, “Perhaps it be best we wait.”

I replied, voice heavy with want, "Yes, yes, of course." Our lips were still touching, and I gently pressed forward, kissing him again. This time, however, I allowed our lips to part fully before I spoke again. "Until when?"

She was as sparked as I was, and I sighed against her lips. Gently, once we had parted, my hand went to her hair, and I stole a pin delicately. “Soon,” I said with a teasing grin. “After the Fete. You will know to come find me when this is returned to you.” Gods. I needed a chance to control my urges, lest I explode. My lovely fairy was stoking my desire steadily with her own.

"All right," I said. "After the Hunt fete, then." My blood pounded in my veins, and I pulled out the empty chair next to Walid to sit. "Forgive me, I feel a bit...strange."

My hand went to her cheek, caressing it lightly. "Strange? Is that so?" I asked softly. "Tell me," I said gently. "I will listen, and we will understand it... together."

I leaned into his touch, even as I shook my head. If this strange feeling was what I thought it was, better to let it pass than to dwell overlong on it. "It's just...a peculiar tightness in my stomach," I said, "and I can hear my blood beating so fast."

Desire, or somewhat else? What to tell her? “Only time will unlock the mysteries of your heart,” I said softly. “But your body is claiming that which perhaps best be awaited for.”
I leaned in to kiss her, softly, gently. I wanted her, but I wanted to give her a chance to think on whether she wanted me, or not. Best to have patience. “Little fairy,” I whispered against her lips.

I returned his kiss, and laughed a little at his calling me a fairy. "If I am a fairy, then you are a djinn," I said.

I laughed too. "Djinns are well known for evaporating into thin air," I said with a smile. "Be careful what you wish for," I added, teasing.

"But fairies are masters of illusion," I said. Then, more seriously, "I do not wish for you to be a djinn."

“I am not,” I replied with a smile. “I am a prince, a man, a mohandis. Not a djinn – I cannot turn water to dust, wine to ale, or stone to gold. Not yet, anyway,” I added, teasing.

"Good," I said. "And I am just a woman, no fairy."

Oh, gods of the desert, a woman. She made me want to protect her, so terribly innocent she looked, though of course, being D’Angeline, it was appearance rather than truth, perhaps.
“Then we have an understanding,” I said softly. “I will see you soon, but I should return. It would not be fit for me to outstay the normal length of a dinner.”

"Yes, of course," I said quickly. "You are right."
I rose from the chair. "Shall I see you out?"

“By all means,” I said with a smile. I caressed her cheek, wanting to keep things warm even if protocol dictated circumspection. “Lead the way.”

Rising, I walked out of the dining room and down the short hall to the foyer. I knew he was following.

Silently, I followed her to the entrance hall, my arms clasped behind my back. She was pretty, her back had a shape that was enticing and youthful, and I enjoyed looking at her from this angle.
When we were there, I said, "Well..."

Turning to face him, I offered him my hand to kiss. "Until the Hunt, then," I said.

I took the hand and kissed it delicately, nodding curtly. "Until the Hunt, then." I replied almost strangled.
With that, I bowed to her once more, and made my exit, lest I ravish her too early.

I graciously saw him out, and waited before he was far enough away before running upstairs and flinging myself breathlessly onto my bed. Until the Hunt! I could hardly wait.
