"Well, not too many. Those that I did, I've haven't been able to contact. I''ve been absent from the country for a number of years, so it feels like starting from scratch." I started.

"Not a good place to be," I said with a smile. "But it will get better," I added practically. "There are a lot of main events in the city, and you'd be surprise the old acquaintances you will find in those circumstances."
I decided I wanted to at least give the guy a chance, and so I took a step in the direction of the weapons shop.

I took his lead, and followed after. "So, what kind of events might this include?" I asked as we entered the shop. Racks contained a variety of bladed weapons, though it appeared to be a more specialized shop, not just an armory, so selections were modest, and appealing.
Something small, discreet, and efficient was on the menu.

"Oh, there's plenty," I said as we walked, "State weddings are the rage these days, then there was the Royal Coronation, and before that, Longest night, and the Midwinter Masque... Plenty of fetes to build relations on," I noted.
The store was broached, and I looked at the sun, and realized I was running very late.
"Well, here you are," I said, pointing out the obvious. "But I have to run, I have an appointment I can't miss." I winked, "Legs to damn a Cassiline..."
Spontaneously, I drew a calling card out of my doublet, and handed it to him. "Should you need directions..." and with a whimsical grin, I was off.
No-one lets a pretty adept wait.
