I blushed a little at the compliment, but I doubted he saw it, so busy was he starring at his own feet. "Beauty is like joy, I think. It grows greater in the sharing of it."

I smiled at her words, liking the truth in them. "If you don't mind my asking, what were you going to read, before I interrupted." I indicated the book sitting on the bench, not wanting to be caught peering at the title.

"You didn't interrupt," I assured him with a smile as I handed him the book. It was an interesting little book of poems. Interesting because they were all anonymous poems. Through time or carelessness or deliberation, all of the verses within had found themselves without authors.

I flipped through some pages before finding one that was interesting and reading it aloud.
"I am a traveller, at heart. Wherever journeys lead me, there I imagine myself living. I visit you with the ache of travel, fold myself into the space between your arms and make that leap again inhabiting, for now, these chambers we beat against together making doors in the heart's walls small enough to enter without damage."
I paused in thought, the words hitting something within me.

I smiled at his pensive look, "I think it makes them more personal, not knowing where they came from. There's more freedom to just feel them, rather than think about them."

I nodded my agreement. "It takes it out of context, let's you focus on just the words. It let's you find your own meaning." My voice was soft with thought, though I returned her smile.

I smiled at his thoughtful words, liking his view on the matter.
"What's that?" I asked gesturing with my chin at the small package he carried with him. He'd taken an interest in my book, it was only fair I return the favour.

"A scarf. One of those light fluttery summery ones." I shrugged a little with a small grin.

I cocked my head in confusion for a moment before a thought occurred to me, "Is that for the L'Envers wedding?" I asked cheerily. I was glad to find that joy for my former House mate, completely eclipsed any bitterness I harbored for my own sake, at the thought of her great fortune in love.

"I don't think so, but I don't really know." I smiled, somewhat embarassed. "The Second just sent me off in a hurry, I didn't get the story behind it."

"Well, ours is not to question in any event." I said complacently with a smile, it was hard to imagine him talking out of turn in any but the direst of circumstances.

"Especially when we are already bothering someone, even when it's with our happiness." I replied with a soft smile. I gathered up my package again. "But I really should be going. Are you going to enjoy the sun for a little while longer, or may I walk you home?"
