I spent the better part of the day on that dock. When the sun began to set I figured it time to check on my old friends in the Old Sea Dog Pub. I wandered back down the pier into town and casually entered the Old Sea Dog Pub. It is a tavern that is small in size but large in greeting. Its patrons always wishing newcomers a hearty hello. The dim lit pathway to the bar led me to a seat between two older men. They had their respective conversations going on without notice of me. I ordered a mug of whatever was being poured at the time.
Seconds passed and my old friend Wynde the barmaid had slid a mug to my arm brimming with foam. I took the mug in my hand and spun around on the stool to watch the happenings in the pub.

Heading back down the stairs into the tap room I took stock of my surroundings and seeing an open table, I made my way through the crowded room with ease, and sit facing the crowd. On my way to the table I notice the atmosphere light and jovial many hearty greetings did I receive and return.
There appeared to be only one Mad ‘am serving the room and the bar. She approached and put me at ease with an easy smile asking "What will it be Hun?"
"Mead mad ‘am I am fair parched from the hot day. Might could you bring me a plate of whatever is available?"
“Sure thing Hun, I’ll be right back with your drink while the cook fixes your plate.” The barmaid replied.
Having already paid for the room and my meal in advance I leaned back in my chair and relaxed with a nice mug of mead. I slipped the barmaid a few coins by way of gratitude and bid her thanks.

I noticed a man who I didn't recall seeing in the past. I scanned the room and met his eye, smiled and looked back at my mug.

Comfortably relaxed I sipped my drink and looked around, and there sitting at the bar was the young lass from the docks staring at me. I smiled at her and noticed her staring at her mug once more. I looked around the room and decided to take a chance, what is a fresh start with out some danger.
I approached her then, inclined my head to her in greeting and said, "Hello Miss my names Mu'Steic, would you care to join me at my table?"
I knew I stank but I didn't care this was a chance that did not come often.

My pulse quickened as the man I glanced at got up and walked towards me. I didn't know what to do. He asked me to join him. It felt like minutes passed before I responded with a quiet "um.. yes?" I looked up at him and had no idea where to go from there eventhough he had pointed out to me we were headed to his table.

"Well Miss, I appreciate you joining me, it's a triffle dull to sit and eat alone, don't you think?" I had noticed she was a little flushed and seemed nervous, my hopes were going down fast, I smiled at her then hoping she might relax a bit.

"Funny you should ask that. I do not know where I come from I was raised in Terre D' Ange. Though I know home is not there. I am just traveling now to see the world and may hap stumble across a people who might look like me. But for now I seek employment and new friends."
For what ever reason she made me say things I would never say for my past is just that my past but something about her made me want to be open and honest with her.

"Really I'm here for as long as I can pay for a roof over my head, which unfortunately isnt too long... Any way tell me a little bit about yourself and where you are from?" Again I smiled at her enjoying this pleasant conversation.

"I'm from here. I've been here since I was born. I haven't yet left the island, but I hope to do that soon." I could smell the salt on him and other grime from travel, he smelled like the sea, and it completely intrigued me.
"Where did you sail from?"

"We sailed from La Serenissima, across the straits to here, and it was a fine voyage and a far cry different from my first. The sky was shining bright and the winds held good. It was a good voyage. Tell me is that why you spend time on the docks?" I was curious I felt drawn to this young woman, I felt that while she was a strong lass, she needed a guardian.

"I have friends... old sailors that I have known since I was small. Every now and then they return and tell me of the places they travel to. Besides, there's not much else going on here." My mind wandered to thoughts of leaving this island but then returned to thoughts of my obligations at home. I looked down at the table then back up at the man.

"Well met Lady Piyra. It has been a pleasure this evening.. I will be in town for at least a week for after that, who knows where the wind will take me. Enjoy the rest of your evening." I waved good bye to her and left out the front door, once outside, I fair raced to the baths, not only did I stink but I needed to breathe. She is dangerous.

After he left I went back to the bar and ended the night in plesant conversation with some old friends.

I got sufficiently drunk that night and found myself wandering the streets. I should have learned by now to not drink so much, but there was nothing else that entertained me that night as much as chatting with strangers and now howling at the moon in the walkways of the town. I stumbled across doorways and, as I guess nature has intended, stumbled my way back onto the pier. Looking at the docked ship with envy I wandered in closer... weaving my way through imaginary people towards the gangway.
"Hey Captain!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. "Take me with you! I've nothing better to do here and I'm bored!" I flopped down crosslegged on the gangway in my drunken stuper. My dress a mess about my legs.
"Stay here with the animals they say... oh Piyra, can you get me this, help me with blah blah blah.... no more for me.." My head was spinning and my drunken ramblings continued on for who knows how long.

Having gotten my thoughts back in order, and a good bath I was just laying down as I heard shouting from the docks. Thinking to myself, "What the hell! Who would be shouting this late down at the docks. Maybe I ought to go chek it out."
I followed the shouting to its source. There in the middle of the docks I came to a sudden halt when I saw Piyra sitting there shouting. At what I could not say. I stood there for a moment unsure of what I should do.

I looked up and noticed the man from the bar... wait.. two of them? I didn't know he had a twin. Grinning I shouted out to him "Hey Moofastar! I didn't know you had a brother!"

Looking around I dont see anyone but my self. Great she is drunk. Better get this over with. I started to walk towards her.
With a resigned sigh, "Piyra, hey there. Who are you talkin to?"

His closeness to me was too close. I slapped his face and screamed "Heeeeeelp Meeee! Some crazy man and his twin brother are trying to walk me home!!" I stepped back, eyes wide like a scared wild animal.

"Fine!" I yelled after them. "The QUIET brother was BETTER LOOKING!.. you .... TERRIBLE... " and at that... I fell off the gangway.

I heard a splash then and I turned, looking for PIyra. Not seeing her I ran up to the gang way where she was at. I looked down and dived in.

Disoriented I flailed about in the water. I twisted around to see the man from the bar in the water near me. I swam as fast and hard as I could toward shore but seemed to make no forward progress. I tried my damndest to get closer to the shore... I truly thought I could do it too. This wasn't the first time I had been in this predicament.
