"Yes, indeed." The lights lowered for the final play of the night, a classic hellene satire, light and histarical to end the night, very fitting. I couldn't remember the name, so I paid half attention to it.
"But, that's past now, and we drink and laugh to our hearts content," I started to raise my mug. "Well, almost." I gave him a sly wink.

“He who forgets history though is doomed to repeat it. But you are right now is the time for pleasantries.”

"Yes, pleasantries, a toast!" I raised my mug, and drunk deep. After that, I felt perhaps that the alcohol was finally having an effect.
"And what pleasantries are we able to engage in now. Perhaps gambling. horse racing, or we can always toy with the nobility, that's always good."

I smiled a bit "Am afraid those are not things I do often. Though I have on occasion gambled a little bit for petty amusement." The memory brought a little twinge but it was not as sharp as it used to be.

"Gambling, Hmm." Gods, I was cocky. But I was bored, and this play I'd seen a thousand times. "Well, how about a little contest then. Interested?"
Oh, so many options, but, first lets see if he's up for some fun.

“Depends on the contest” I responded evenly and paid for him another drink. In fact another double was promptly delivered. If we were going to game it was perfectly acceptable for me to have him as fuzzy headed as I could.

Oh, that was perfect. "I know. A game suited for two of Naamah's servants like us." I gave him a wicked grin. I noted another arrival of glasses, which I accepted eagerly.
"A test of our ability to turn heads...if you will. We shall stroll around Mount Nuit, and return here, and which ever one of us acquires more smiles, winks, and calls of interest, the winnder that person shall be. Simple, right?"
It was a contest of flirting. And Orchis love to talk. Perfect.

I smirked “Seems there is more than ample opportunity for cheating and boasting in this little endeavor.”

"And how might you manage to cheat at such a game?" I asked. Seriously, I wondered. We were both good looking, though I suppose the guy did have those looks to turn heads. But he was so...timid. He was ashamed of it almost. A pity. But, in a contest, I'll exploit any advantage I could. I gave him a wicked grin again.

"Miscount" I simply replied "Or if we go together who is to say what whistle or cat call is for whom?"

"Well, we'll worry about that later." I said taking a sip. "Details are for people who..." I looked and remembered who I was talking to. Perfectionists take care of every detail. I rephrased my thought. "Don't worry about it, the point is to have a good time." I gave him a friendly tap on the shoulder and drained my mug.
"Shall we get going then?"

I could see him revise his thoughts in mid sentence and it amused me. So I stood with my posture remaining unflawed “Yes, of course if that is what you would like.” There was a small smile on my face as well I was more than willing to let him play the fool to my straight man for the evening if he was inclined.

"Excellent. Well, she should not waste any time then." I said the last part a bit loudly, and found myself getting a couple stairs from the audience. Bah, let them be angry, they'll see it again I'm sure. I quited my voice. "Well, then let's not waste any time." I left my tip next to the mug, and made a discreet exit toward the door.

I left a tip as well and trailed after my loud and partly inebriated companion. I gave a few of the starring people a smile and a little wave of my fingers on our way out the door.

I opened the door and stepped into the night air, taking in a large breath of the cool breeze. It was a pretty busy night, some semblance of the days made most people out for a good time on a night like this. A perfect set up really.
"So, where should we walk to?" I mused as I heard the door open behind me.

"Oh, a little bluster from the Camellian it seems. Hmm, well, let's see. Let's try the clothiers district. Surely there are many a good patrons and would-be's out shopping." I made my way in the direction.
And the game was off. It was true, I'd not really thought of the details, but it didn't matter to me. I turned a few heads with my good natured cheer, and wide grin. It seemed every other group we passed I got an interested look. Doing quite well, if you ask me.

"Clothiers district it is" as he made grander gestures I slowed and pulled my posture into even more perfection. I often even made him have to wait for me to catch up. Of course people looked at his gregarious nature first, but then their gazes and smiled more often than not shifted to my figure of perfection seeming to keep a leash on his enthusiasm. On short I used his own labors against him.

Well, this was a bad idea. Sure they looked at me first like an interesting toy, and they shifted there gaze to Edwyn, and I could literately see there eyes widen. Naamah's tits, talk about a backfire. If noting else, I did the work, so I can say that I got the majority of the looks. And I didn't think second hand glances would count.

This was amusing me more by the second and my smile blossomed. Stark white teeth off set perfectly against the flawless features of my face. Without being arrogant I can say I am mostly the classical ideal many have in mind when it comes to male perfection and the marque that is complete on my back testifies to that. My smile soon attracted more first glances then I upped the antae. Soon moving up beside Larquél and offering quiet commentary under the guise of keeping him out of trouble “Watch that piece of rubbish over there Larquél you might trip and hit your head.” I put a guiding hand lightly on his shoulder and for my efforts I was rewarded with more first smiles as one tends to look kindly on a charitable soul. Of course I really was concerned the fellow had drunk enough to cold cock a large draft horse.

This was turning worse from favor by the second. Its like he lit a candle on his head that screamed LOOK AT ME!. I needed to do something, or I'd end up this trailing baffoon. He was playing the concerned friend, which didn't help my situation. Or did it. It felt like a small battle of wits, who could out preform the other. I took my cue as he leaned his arm around me.
Noting the pile, I let myself stumble and fall, gracefully of course. If there is one thing people love more than caring for others good deeds, its pity. Unfortunatly, my grin was always on, so I had to hide my face so I'd not give myself away.

"Ah, still fell I see" I offered Larquel a gracious hand up. Though the imp in me that I kept hidden most times made me tug a bit harder than was needed possibly sending him flying for his trouble.

I did manage to look around and catch a goodly among of faces at me. Not all swooning, though I did see one damnably cute girl with a look of sheer pity and amusement. I turned my head back to Edwyn with a huge grin on my face now unhidden.
"That's more for me." I said wryly. "Come on now, do you think I can't handle my own liquor."

"And go boom. Yeah, maybe if you pushed me." I said wryly. I didn't mean it harshly of course. But I dusted myself off, and continued walking, hoping to get myself a little ahead of him. Perhaps I could distract him, I'd gain an edge. I look better when I talk honestly.
"So Edwyn, what does someone in your position do...I mean, besides the obvious bit that we all do."

I trailed him not hurrying and answered as he gained a bit of space. Yet to hear me he could not gain too much space "I read a lot to be honest. Some of my associates even jokingly call me a hermit."

"You a hermit?!" I let out a full fettered laugh, for that was something I found to hard to believe. I was barely able to note the effect of attention that laugh of mine collected before I returned to my question.
"Perhaps you should read more in public, it is well more suited to your looks. I know, perhaps you could model for an artist, a sculpture, I don't know." I took a couple steps forward, and pretended to kneel down in contemplation reading a book. "I'm sure you could pull this look off quite well." I said teasingly.

"Actually modeling has been suggested to me. I am not sure how I feel about the idea at present. At first it sounded good now I do not know we shall simply see what time and tides bring." I continued trailing as I added "And I do not really think of pulling off looks only carrying myself in perfect and proper form." He was gaining on me and probably passing in the little game, but that was fine I was not overtly interested in winning it was simply a pass time. Though more than a few looks always came my way. I was used to it and paid it little mind.

"Well, do you plan on pleasing patrons and opening a salon for the remainder of your days. Not that you couldn't pull it off." I said slyly giving him a nudge and grin. "But, for myself, I think I need some more ambition." I bobbed my head in contemplation.

"Opening a salon costs money a lot of it." I nudged him back "And honestly if I knew what to do I probably would not be making a public spectacle with you."
