Selwyn's visit had left me much to ponder, and I proceeded to write a memo to Deleuze when his patient exited.
Trying to hide my impatience for I truly despised the clerical work, I made him pay the honorarium and saw him out before I resumed my notes. Deleuze never even stepped out, and I supposed he had some work he felt could not wait.
