"That," I said gratefully, "is very generous of you. I'd offer the same but I'm affraid all I have to offer are the draperies and I see you have some of those yourself."

"That's alright," I said with a smile. "My repayment is people not becoming completely annoyed at my somewhat chatty presence. Or incredibly chatty, depending on my mood." Raising my hands over my head I stretched slightly, arching my back, for a moment my head pressing more firmly into his hand before I relaxed again.

Smiling as she stretched, I leaned in and brushed a kiss against her lips as she relaxed again. Pulling back just a little I said, "I should go." smiling fondly, with regret in my eye. "I said I'd be back quite some time ago, and I don't know the servants here well enough yet to know if they'll worry.
Running my fingers softly through her hair I added with a glint of mischief playing across my face, "But I'll hold you to that masked dance, lovely Sidhe."

With a little regret of my own I said, "I understand, and Robin Goodfellow will get his dance, never fear. And I meant it about the borrowing- anything, just let me know." Smiling, I brushed another kiss against his lips and then stood, going to pick up the scattered clothing and bring it back, sliding into my gown.

With my breeches on, I picked up her book from where she'd stashed it. Quickly stamping on my boots I said, "I'll start with this I think." I said, brandishing the book a little as I shrugged into my shirt she'd handed to me.

Smiling in acknowledgement as I laced and tied my gown I replied, "I hope you like reading it. My second one should be out in the next couple months and I get a first copy from my publisher- they're also thinking of making a second edition of that one." I gestured to the book he was holding. I still had a hard time believing that quite a few people seemed to have bought my books; part of me still said they did so just to keep the general populace from having to read the prose. Stepping closer to him I settled his hair into its normal configuration.

I smied down at her as she tidies my tousled hair, and leaned down to kiss her once more as she finished. "I'm sure it's well worth it." I said softly, starting towards the door with her still wrapped in my arms.

Laughing lightly with merriment I let him lead me toward the door as I kissed him back quickly. "Oh, are your intentions to borrow me on this trip?" I teased. "As I've said, I'm a social creature and not likely to protest."

"I certainly could use you around the house." I purred as we reached the door, where I had to relinquish my hold round her waist. "It was wonderful meeting you,Lady de Mornay." I said with a quirqued eybrow, since I knew she'd rather I call her 'Jess'.

Smiling, I leaned against the door frame with one shoulder, my pose comfortable and casual. Raising a brow, I then shook my head and rolled my eyes as I chuckled. "It was good to meet you as well," I replied with a wide grin as I stood and sketched a minor curtsey. "I hope I have the pleasantness of renewing our friendship soon, and if not, I hope I will see you at Midwinter." Dropping my modulated courtly tones, I winked at stuck my tongue out at him.

With a deep and courtly bow, book tucked behind my back, and a crooked rakish grin. "Truly something to look forward to." I said, and made my way out.
It turned out to be not nearly as far back to my own home as I'd expected, which was a blessing. Further blessing, the servants seemed to have dissipated for the evening, leaving the house in a heretofore unknown state of calm. I collapsed into my own bed with a happy sigh, impressed by my good fortune, and warming quickly to a city so ready to offer up pretty girls. I fell asleep with the scent of her still on me and her book lain on my nightstand.
