I let my face display nothing save for a carefully turned corner of a smile. "I'm sure it prospers in your absence." I said after thinking over the information he gave me. "You two are a fair young for such an outing though," I said quickly following my thoughts. "How old are you?"

Oh he was on to us. My smile became a bit more devilish.
"Yes, a terrible shame really, to be fostered for so long and not even know one's own home. You have been so very lucky to know yours so well, is it lovely in Kusheth? I hear tell that it is." I smiled, coy, looking up through thick lashes. I took his hand in mine and traced the back.

I nodded once in agreement. "Thank you; to hear my ancestral lands doing well from your mouth means much to me. As to our age, we're both 17; that's old enough to go out and about I think, adepts are already taking their assignations for a year at our age."

"And really, how can one measure a person's maturity based on age alone? We may be young, but have seen much."

I chuckled softely at their reply's. "Perhaps." I said nodding and pulling my hand slowly away from the Comtesse. "Then what does bring the two of you to Mont Nuit?"

"Oh, I suppose why everyone is here right now, the L'Envers fete of course. I hear it is to be quite decadent, an event to lift the somber mood of the City. I take it you are here for that reason as well, yes?" I sat myself back down. Mayhap our rouse was working, but something told me no, that he knew, or at least suspected. How to divert him?

"We plan on staying for the season- to take in Midwinter and Longest Night at least. Before we have to settle down to our respective estates and waste away," I added. I could see Coretta crumbling and moved my hand to her shoulder.

I nodded once more. "Of course, it seems to be the event that everyone is speaking of." I said looking at the propritor of the store. "Then perhaps I will leave you to your devices and we shall speak more on the night of the fete." I smiled widely and made a deep bow and when I had righted myself, suddenly needing the urge to return home I stepped back from the two blonde peers and turned for the door. I would get our outfits at Eglantine, I need the time to think about the two I had just met.

I watched with interest as the Prince and the twins sparred back and forth. The twins were hiding something, and I'l like to know what. It wasn't anything at all serious, or their Casseline would of been more on edge. Interesting I thought. I hope I didn't just ruin any oportunity with the Prince in the future, I thought with dismay.
I turned toward the female, Comtesse Oriel, so she claimed. "Yes, let me see your designs Comtesse" I asked politely.
Thumbing through them, I saw that they indeed had an original flare to them. Nicely drawn and original. "These are exquisite" I replied. "Do you have any one in mind?"

"All of them. Not for the fete, but I want all of them made up to the specifications and colors I have detailed on the back of each drawing. For the fete, the Comte in I will be in red. I want a simple crimson and gold striped caftan and opaque veils. For the Comte, white, trousers, jacket, turban and boots. A crimson burnoose and a gold sash and mask." I tapped my slipper on the floor, thinking.
I had more than a dozen gowns designed in my portfolio, it would take some time for them to be completed. I rose.
"Start with the outfits for the fete. I'll be back in your shop the day after and you and I will talk business and get initial measurements. Any other fittings will be done at the Palace."

I nodded agreement, not really caring; Delaunay and his possible discovery of us had my thoughts absorbed. "Fine," I said distractedly.

Excellent I thought as I quickly took notes as she rattled off instructions.
The outfits for the fete would take no time at all to complete. "I'm able to do the measurements at your convience Comtesse" I replied, wondering how much she let slip with her comment about the Palace.

"Excellent. My brother and I will be back the day after the fete. I do so look forward to doing business with you." Moon came up behind me, I curtsied prettily and we left, Darcy scowling in our wake.
In the carriage I leaned back and smiled at Christien. "So, what do you think?"

"I think it'll be good enough," I said jokingly. "Actually, you did a great job, I'm sure we'll both look splendid."
Looking out the window of the carriage I watched the city go by on the way back to the Palace. Maybe things would get interesting.

I poked him with my toe. "I know the clothes will be fine, and I know you don't have an opinion on them one way or another as long as you don't look silly. I'm talking about our distant cousin. Cousin, ha, he's barely family and ninth in the secession."
I toyed with the edge of my dress. "You do know that if our cousin dies, you're the Heir. I don't know if I'll like the distance that will impose between us."

"He can be the heir, I want no part of it," I said petulantly.

"Oh don't pout. I'm sure Sun will be a good little Queen and marry some perfectly respectable Royal and produce a brood of children. We can still have fun. Like at the fete, what game should we play?"

I grinned rakishly. "Every game we can, sister-dear," I said in a silky voice. "Every game that can be played shall be played by us."
