I shook my head. "I'm afraid I'm not very devout," I said. "Shame on me, right?" I smiled sheepishly.

I smiled, "no not at all," I said with a soft laugh. "I did not visit the temple back home very much, and its only I guess since I have just realised how beautiful the temples are, or at least Eluas that I have shown more... interest. Though it does bring about a certain amount of peace," I said with a grin. "You know, when I went to the temple of Elua, I thought for a second that I would make a good priest," I said with a soft laugh. "I am far too old for that now but, mayhap its just how ... innocent the City makes me feel... untried." I said with a smile.

"I know what you mean," I said. "Though for me it is not only a feeling, I really am...untried. I don't think I've done anything daring in my whole life."

I smiled, "neither have I!" I exclaimed. It probably was not something to be terribly excited about, but it was another thing that we had in common. "Although it makes me feel terribly naive," I added with a frown. I was untried in so many different ways it wasn't even funny.

"Oh, I know what you mean," I said. "I have all these old fashioned views about...well, about men, I suppose, but I don't think the people I've met really understand. They are too busy hopping from bed to bed." I frowned. "Not that there's anything wrong with that, but they're not waiting to meet someone special."

I nodded in understanding though I felt myself blush. "Love as thou wilt, though, right?" I said with a soft smile. "And me well.. to be terribly honest... you are one of the very few women I've had this long a conversation with outside of my own family members, and those who help with the land," I said with a slightly nervous chuckle, kicking a rock as we walked. "I hope that this isn't terribly rude of me," I said though I knew it probably was, "but have you... found anyone special in the City yet?"

I paused. Was Shea special? He certainly aroused me, and I liked the way we kissed, but he also made me so nervous. For Elua's sake, I had only met him once. "I met one man," I said slowly, "but I don't know if he likes me or not. So...no, I mean, I don't know, I'm not attached or anything." I looked to him. "You said you don't really know any women, so I suppose you're not attached either."

I smiled as she seemed to stammer through her thoughts and nodded in understanding. "And no... I guess you could say I am the farthest thing from attached," I said with a chuckle. "And how could he not like you?" I asked sincerely. "You seem honest and understanding, and smart, and pretty," I said with a smile, though it faltered then and I blushed. "Sorry, I probably sound like a cad," I muttered softly, a small apologetic smile coming to my lips. "I just mean he would be a fool not ot like you. from what I can tell."

"You're the furthest thing from a cad," I said firmly. "Cads definitely don't act the way you are acting, or say the things you are saying." I shrugged. "I think I was...too honest, with this person. He was hurt by something I said."

I blushed at her words, softly mumbling a 'thank you.' I looked to her, though, when she explained a bit more of the situation. "I always thought honesty was something good, something that people would want in a person, though," I said as I knitted my brows together.

"I thought that too," I said. "But some people can be hurt if you something and they take it as a personal attack."

"Oh," I said with a soft frown. "I would just ask what the person meant and get to the bottom of the meaning instead of jump to think that someone meant to hurt me," I said with a shrug, "but I guess we all deal with things differently," I said with a soft smile. "Do you think you might give him another chance?" I asked.

I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach. "I don't know, maybe?" I said. "I don't even know if I will get the chance. In any case, I'm not pinning too much hope on it."

I nodded in understanding. "I do hope you find happiness. You seem like you deserve it," I said as we continued to walk. I looked around, a little bit lost. "We're still on the right track, right?" I asked with a chuckle.

I smiled at her words. "Excellent," I laughed softly. "Thank you for coming with me," I said as I looked at her with gratitude.

I nodded with a smile. "It is a pleasant change. I am used to being alone for most of the day," I explained.

I smiled, nodding. "I am not much of a reader, well, I read, and I enjoy it, but I am more of a nature man," I said with a soft laugh. "I would rather spend time turning falling leaves of trees than of tomes," I grinned, laughing softly at my own little joke, though I stopped when I realised how ridiculous I must have sounded laughing at my own joke.

I looked at him for a moment; then he laughed, and I realized the pun and I laughed too. "That's funny," I said. "You're funny, Henri."

I could feel my cheeks heat at her compliment. "Well thank you very much, Abigail," I said with a grin. "Laughter is one of the most important elements of happiness, I think."

"I have heard that if you are sad, forcing yourself to laugh can actually make you feel better," I said. "Have you ever heard that?"

I smiled at her words and nodded. "I have, though I have never tried," I said with a grin. "But the next time I am sad, I will try it, and let you know. I think it makes sense, though, because then you start focusing on the fact that, really, you are laughing at nothing at all, which in and of itself is silly, and would make for more reason to laugh," I said with a smile. "Or maybe it is just that the feeling of laughing is one that is contagious and tricks your mind into being happy," I speculated out loud as we walked.

"Perhaps it is a little bit of both," I said. "I have never tried it either, but maybe I should." We were getting close to the temple. "I think we're nearly there," I said.

I smiled deeply with interest as we continued on. "Excellent. I wonder how this temple will be different," I mused out loud.
