Making our way out the palace was not hard, the guards, a bit tricker but the walk to the place of meeting with not breaking our necks was much harder. There was much stumbling and grumbling from both Coretta and I. But when we reached the large tree I saw the Priest of Elua and couldn't help but not care.
"Majesty," The moon shone brighter then I had expected and the pale floor of white snow made the light of the moon reflect on his face. Older then I had expected but I had seen him some where before. "Welcome." I smiled.
"Please, just Sabrina today." He nodded making and bow to Coretta.
"Highness." He said to Coretta and I smiled back at her. "What names am I to use in the service?" He asked calmly.
"Sabrina and Alexei." I said softly. "Send the proper documentation to me and I will fill in the names when it arrives." He nodded.
"Of course," The priest smiled softly. "And the bridegroom, where is he?" I blushed though I knew no one could see.
"He comes, with my brother." He nodded patiently.
"Then we wait." The grin on his face told me one thing, Love as thou wilt.

It was eerie and cold beneath the spreading branches of the tree. The moon rode low and full, setting the snow to sparkling, painting everything icy and blue.
But Sabrina shone. Her eyes, the anemones in her hair, the dim red of her gown as it peeped through her cloak. She was radiant with love.
And I was jealous.
Moon had his slave girl, Sabrina her Bear. It was so petty to be jealous of what those I loved had. And I was not jealous of their respective mates, but of the fact that someone loved them, and they loved in return. I pulled my dark cloak around me and huddled in my own arms, alone, and striving to be good.

I'd stashed a lantern just outside the door and picked it up on the way out, stopping for a moment to light it before we continued on. Snow would keep the a glare in Alexei's eyes so he couldn't see the set-up before we arrived, Sun would know we were coming and neither of us would break our necks. Broken bridegrooms make for poor weddings. Biting my lip I held back a laugh. Damn vodka. I was really warm though, and the glare was kept away by the darkness of my hood so I could see the path to the tree. Moving at a constant, steady pace I brought us closer and closer.

I followed Christien, my heart pounding at the thought of seeing Sabrina. Gods, I loved her. I prayed silently as we walked through the light snow. Keep her safe, watch over her, let the weight of the crown not be to heavy on her head.
I looked at the sky as we walked, smiling at the clearness of the sky and haw every step brought me closer to my one true love.

I looked over Coretta's shoulder seeing a light approach.
"Its Christien." I said softly looking to Coretta and then to the Priest. "He arrives."

I could feel my twin approaching before the light hit my eyes. Sabrina tensed up and kept her eyes on the path. The priest caught my eye and smiled kindly. He knew what I was thinking.
Ashamed I bowed my head and waited for my brother to join me. I desperately needed his support.

My merry mood began to dissipate as I felt Shadow growing closer- she was sad and lonely. More composed and solemn I let myself count the measured steps until in the light I saw the branches looming overhead. With a single motion I opened the remaining flaps on the lantern and set it on the ground off to the side, letting light spill through the clearing and walking over to Coretta, taking her hand.

I stopped so fast I almost toppled over. At first all I could see was Sabrina and my heart stopped at the sheer glorious beauty of her.
Then I saw everything else and it sunk in what was going on. I was certain I had never looked so silly in my life as I stood there, jaw open, searching for the ability to speak.
"Sabrina?" was all I could remember.

I smiled seeing Alexei, my heart beat so fast.
"Alexei." I whispered. "Welcome to our wedding." I smiled removing my cloak completely, it was cold out but I wanted him to see me fully.

I dropped my cloak and stepped closer, close enough to take her hands in mine. I felt the rush of love I had for her fill me, I ached with it, I felt I would burst with it.
"I love you," I told her. "I love you so much."

I smiled taking his hands in mine and kissing the backs.
"And I you," I said turning my head to the Priest. "That is why we're here."
"Are there rings?" I hear the priest's voice.
"Right," I said softly and then went to the cloak pulling the rings from the pocket. I handed one to Coretta, mine, and the other to Christien. I turned back to Alexei.
"I assume you wish to procede?" I furrowed my brows suddenly worried that he would say no.

I stared at the small circlet in my hand. So binding, and yet so small.
Moon's hand in mine kept me sane, kept me calm. I tried to keep the envy from my heart, but it was difficult. They both look so enraptured, oblivious of everything but each other.
Be good! Blessed Elua, let me be good.

Coretta's monster was trying to get free, so I quickly sent her the message You will have another brother as I took the ring that was proffered to me and held it in my palm. In reality this ceremony, while it was legally important, didn't matter overly much to me; it was ceremony and that was to please the people. Love is love, married or not. Still I squeezed Shadow's hand and tried to show her my sympathy. After all, I was as far away from this sort of bliss as she was.

"Yes," I said, smiling tenderly. I caressed her cheek. "Marrying you is all I want in the world."
Took her hands again, kissing the palms.
"I love you."

I smiled and nodded.
"Good," I heard the voice of the priest beside me and smiled, a roll of tears when over my cold cheeks and I nodded. "Then we shall begin." He looked to Alexei and then me. Opening a text he began to read a passage, one of love and commitment, of marriage, it was a passage I had heard as a child, it was one often recited at wedding in Terre d'Ange and I took Alexei hands in mine squeezing them softly. I listen following though my eyes locked with Alexei's and I couldn't help but stare longingly at him. Then I heard.
"Sabrina, do you take this man to be your husband, to follow is Blessed Elua's sacred precept, and live in harmony." I smiled to Alexei.
"I do."
"And do you Alexei take this woman to be your wife, to follow is Blessed Elua's sacred precept, and live in harmony?"

The words were different than in Ruskovia, but the meaning the same. Perhaps they meant more here, all I knew was they meant everything to me.
"I do," I answered, holding to Sabrina's hands and never looking away from her beautiful eyes.

I closed my eyes. I couldn't see their happiness and have a serene heart and face. The night air was cold on my cheeks and I focused on my breathing. I could almost feel the stars.
"The rings?" I opened my eyes and solemnly approached the priest. His weathered hand outstretched I paused. Swiftly i brought the ring to my lips and kissed it before handing it over. Blessed Elua keep their love burning bright in this heavy time. Let them find happiness.

Watching Coretta I could almost feel her heart cracking and there was nothing I could do for it. Carefully I handed the priest the ring, letting the light glint off of it as I let it slide into his palm.

There was nothing but Sabrina. I didn't look away from her as the twins gave the rings to the priest. I did smile softly and then silently mouth the words I love you

I smiled back and nodded mouthing in return, I love you too. The priest handed me the ring and I took Alexei's hand and slid it onto his ring finger. He handed Alexei my ring and I shook as I held out my hand for it.

I retreated to Moon's side and huddled into my cloak. The night was cold and the stars mocked me. The only warmth in the glenn was Moon's hand in mine and the love burning between Sun and the Bear.

"Congratulations, you are now husband and wife." I took a deep breath and threw my arms around Alexei's neck and kissed him.

Not even looking at the new couple for more than a few moments I hugged Coretta and rocked her, crooning an old lullaby and letting my calm rush over her. In reality we were only the scenery and would be until we found someone who saw only us alone.

I threw my arms around Sabrina, lifting her up and kissing her deeply, letting all my love for her flow into that one kiss.
I spun her around a little, laughing deeply. "Husband and wife!" I cried to the stars and moon.
We ended up close to Christien and Coretta. I set Sabrina down, but kept one arm around her. "And a new brother and sister!" I said, gathering them with the other arm and hugging all three at once.

I sank into the embrace of my family. My Family! Sabrina looked joyous, Alexei the same. Moon still held me and I felt tears slipping down my cheeks even as I smiled.
"Our new family. Renee as well. Blessed Elua watch over us."
