I had sent a proper letter to Abigail d'Aubigne asking her if she would welcome a afternoon lunch with me. My father had recommended a few women for me, and I decided that if I was going to find myself a wife I should start there. I was pleasantly surprised when she agreed to see me. I had been told that she was a feminine sort of woman. I wanted to put my best foot forward, so I purchased a bouquet of yellow daffodils. Roses seemed that it might be coming on a bit too strong.
I made my way inside of the restaurant, dressed in dark blue suit. My hair had been brushed down to look neat. My eyes searched for the dark haired woman with large eyes. I remember seeing her when I was about 11, and her eyes still stood out for me.

I'd received a curt letter from my father with instructions to begin meeting young lords for courting purposes, and then another letter from a young man with a familiar name interested in meeting me. Ever obedient, I showed up at the restaurant at the important time, dressed in pale blue silk and little white gloves, with a sprig of forget-me-nots in my hair. I looked around for a familiar face.

My eyes widened a little when I saw her come in dressed in a pale blue dress. I noticed her looking around for me. I walked toward her with the bouquet of daffodils in hand. I bowed in front of her, "Lady D'Aubigne? It is a pleasure to see you again. Of course when I last saw you we were both much younger." I offered her the daffodils and waited to see if she would offer me her hand to kiss.

I offered her my arm, "You are quite welcome. I'm glad that you enjoy them. Shall I lead you to the table?" I began escorting to the table. I pulled out her chair for her to sit before sitting down myself. "How do you like the city of Elua? Or have you been here before?"
