Another long night .... I was used to them by now and my sleep pattern had changed to fit, not awaking quite so early and dozing a bit after supper.
This, the bright time of the afternoon is when I walked about in search of work, or a diversion. I stopped to rest by the fountain side, not really to think, but relax. The sky was clear and the sun bright so I shed my cloak and folded it, letting it rest on my knees, under it was a thin loose shirt of reddish brown. I picked up a branch and began to stir the water.

It was my first full day in the city, I had arrived yesterday but had been busy unpacking, well at least some of the smaller items. There were other things I wanted to do with the house but I had to purchase some items and as much as I was loathe to admit it, I needed an extra pair of hands to help. I liked to consider myself completely independent and for the most part I was. But every now and then I needed help and to add to that I did not want people to see me as anything more then a simple girl. I did not want to betray my secret identity.
So I ventured into the city for two reasons, the first to find some furniture and the second a helping hand. I took my small carriage and stabled it then began to walk the streets. I had been walking through the city for a time but came to realize I was lost. Luckily though I had wandered into what looked like Elua's square and spotted a man sitting at the fountains edge. "Hello." I said once I came up apon him.

I wasn't sure what my mind was doing as I stirred the water, but whatever it was a voice snapped me out of it. I flinched slightly and turned my head around, able to change the look of surprise to a warm smile before she could see my face. "Hello," I said as I rose, bowing to the lady who was clearly a noble. "May I help you milady?" I inquired, my Camaline accent thick.

I smiled to the young man as he bowed and I gave him a curtsy in returning. "Actually yes." I answered him with a bit of a nervous chuckle. "My name is Penelope Trente, Vicomtesse de Vert." I gave another little curtsy. "I am new to the city and I'm afraid I'm a little lost." I chuckled a little again. "Would you be able to help me monsieur?"

Helping, the thing I did best. "My name is Ansel Roux, and I sure can. Where might you be looking to go, milady?" I glanced around as though trying to determine where a young lady new to the city might head. I also kept the possibility of her needing a coach-driver in the back of my mind.

"Ansel." I said smiling as I echoed his name to remember it. His question made me glance around and the shyly looked back at him. "Well at the moment I am not even sure where I am." I said with a little chuckle.

I smirked, not condescendingly, in fact, from what I'd been told, there's something charming about it, and glanced about me. "Well this is Elua's Square, basically the city's center." "

"Oh." I said glancing around in all directions until it suddenly occured to me how idiotic I could be not to realize such a thing. It even looked like the center of the city. My cheeks flush with an embarassed blush as I tucked some hair behind my ear. "That makes sense." I chuckled. "Alright, whats surrounding us then?"

I simply smiled, knowing how lost I was when I first came to this city, and how quickly I had to learn to become an expert in it. "Well, to the north-west is the palace district. The opposite way takes you to the various marketplaces, as well as the temples. North-east is Night's Doorstep and the night court itself. Residential areas are west, and a bit to the south."
