I wore a elegantly decorated dark blue dress with a black belt. My hair had been brushed down and lay on my shoulders. I entered the Laughing Parrot with a smile on my face. I immediately set myself in the midst of the crowd to watch the performance that was going on stage. I looked around to see if there was anyone I recognized as I got myself settled in the surroundings.

As I made my way through the Artisan's District I recognized a familiar face. Suzi! I hurried my pace to try and catch up, but before I could she had ducked into a building. The Laughing Parrot. I heard commotion from inside and went in, quickly figuring out it was a tavern and a theater. I stood near the entrance, looking for Suzi in the crowd.

The performance finished and I clapped and cheered on the performers. I turned from the stage to see if there was anyone I recognized. I usually greeted people that I knew, and then made my way towards people I didn't know. It didn't take long before I saw the half Skaldi man that I had met in the Temple district the other day.
I made my through the crowd and greeted him with a warm hug, "Hi, Hal! I didn't know you come here too.." I looked at him with a small smirk.

I blushed sheepishly. "I normally don't! I saw you outside and tried to catch you, then you ducked in here. I followed, but lost you. Still, the performance was nice!" I wanted to say more, wanted to say that I followed her for a reason, but maybe I didn't even know what the reason was.

I saw him blush and I wondered if there was some reason he had chased after me. I turned to the stage and nodded, "Yeah, they have a lot of performances. Anyone is allowed on stage and sing or dance, whatever you want to do. Do you want to give it a try?" I gave him a wide grin as my hand slipped into his.

"Oh no..." I said, though I did not pull away from her hand. "I can't really sing or dance. I'd be horrible."

I tugged playfully on his arm, "I'm sure your good at something. I bet you....1 argent that I could figure out some way to get you on that stage with me...by the end of the night." I pressed his arm against my chest, allowing my breasts to brush against his arm. My eyes lit up with excitement, pleading with him to take the chance. I hoped that I could get him to loosen up a little bit.

There were things I was good at. Fighting, making love, I could even dance a little. But I had not tried to entertain anyone before. I looked at Suzi for a moment, keenly aware of the way she looked at me, how she tugged at me. "Alright, Suzi, I'll take that bet. Though, instead of the argent, if I win, then I get a kiss."
I smiled then, feeling more comfortable, and wondered how she might respond.

I cocked my head as if I was thinking about his offer. Then I nodded, "If I can get you on the stage, you owe me a 1 centime. If I can't, then I owe you a kiss. Sound fair?" I offered him my hand to seal the deal.

I laughed and replied, "So you've moved from an argent to a centime? Do you value your kisses so little?" I reached out and bruched her cheek with my fingers before gently taking her hand. "It's a deal."

I smiled as he caressed my cheek, and I shrugged my shoulders. "I'm a complicated woman."
I signaled toward a server, "Why don't you order a drink? Tell me about some of your talents. I imagine that a big strong man like you could do a number of things." I gave him a small smirk. When the server came, I ordered myself a glass of red wine.

I put my hand under my chin and looked at him seriously. I squinted my eyes at him in a purposeful amusing pose. "Hmm....I think you could be a lion tamer!"
I laughed softly and then spoke again, "How about sword fight dancing?" I gave him a grin, confident that he had at least picked up a sword before.

A lion tamer? I laughed, her own smile infectious. But then her second suggestion caught me. Hmmm. I didn't mind losing the money, not in the least. But a new idea had struck me, and I thought Suzi was fun-loving enough to go with it. "I've held a blade on more than one occasion. Sword and axe both. I've not fought in anything that the d'Angeline would consider a tournament. On a true battlefield, or even in an arena, I've always fought for blood. If you can find a man to face me, just to first blood, I will take your stage."
I waited, wondering what might transpire from here.

I considered his challenege. Then I stood up out of my chair and jumped up on my chair, "Attention ladies and gentleman. My new friend here is looking for a swordsman or swordswoman to spar against. Who will step forward?" I looked about the crowd to see if anyone would be interested. I gave a flirtatious smile to the men looking my way.
I watched a tall slender man come forward, bow and offer his hand towards me, "We have a performance!" I smiled brightly as some of the onlookers watched and cheered loudly.
I turned to the gentleman, "Your name, sir."
"Gerald Dimley," he responded easily, his eyes focused on me.
"Gerald Dimley, meet your sparring partner Lord Hjalmar Fellstone," I introduced them. Then I turned to Hal, "Ready to begin or do you need a moment?"

I smiled. "I'm ready." I extended a hand to Gerald and shook. I walked to the stage, where there were now placed a rack of mock weapons, made of wood. I looked them over, trying to find the one that suited me.

Gerald nodded that he was ready as well. He made his way on stage and selected a wooden sword at random. He moved to whisper to Hal, "Are we going to plan this out, or see how it goes? I'd like to win. I'm hoping to get a free night of sex from Suzi. She's quite a sex tart."
Suzi began calling to the crowd. She began taking bets from people, allowing only small amounts of money in order to make it a little more fun.

I quirked an eyebrow. "You know she cannot have sex outside of assignation, yes? I'm sure her House would be most unpleased with her, and with you as well, should they find out." I was rather upset by this point and my expression told Gerald I'd not be holding back. He shrugged.
Little did he know.
We began, and a hush fell over the crowd. Gerald was alright. I could tell he'd practiced with a blade at some point. But he was no Skaldi-borne. No warrior. And wooden weapons to first blood? Bah!
I moved swiftly underneath his swipe, coming up under his chin, my hand balled into a fist. I caught the man's jaw squarely, and he came off the floor of the stage even as my other hand, a left cross, struck the bridge of his nose. Just as in my first Holmgang, it broke, and blood splattered across the wooden floor of the stage.
Gerald crumpled.
I dropped the wooden sword on him, turned, and came off the stage. I pressed the coin into Suzi's hand and merely shook my head. "A free night of sex Suzi? Really?" I was so disappointed and began to make my way out of the establishment.

Suzi cheered along with the crowd as the men fought. Her eyes widened when she saw how serious Hal was. Then she watched Gerald fall to the ground. She blinked as he came up to her and placed the coin in her hand. Her brow furrowed and she rushed after him, "Hal? What are you talking about? Whose getting a free night of sex?" She didn't even understand his comment. Her hand reached out for his arm lightly.

I turned and sighed, looking down at her. I gestured at the man just now coming 'round to consciousness on-stage. "He told me that you bet him that if he won you'd give him a night of free sex. I told him you can't do that outside of assignation, and then beat him. If it is true, I'm terribly disappointed."

I listened to what Hal said and then laughed softly. I shook my head, "I never said that. I never even spoke to him before today. He was blowing smoke at you, Hal. Learn to ease up! Life isn't about rules! It's about fun and experience!" I grinned widely at him.

I wasn't sure if what she said should make me more upset or not. He'd LIED to me! Of course, he had a broken nose for his trouble. I suddenly felt better. I smiled. I agreed.
"You're right. Life is NOT about rules." I looked worriedly at the stage. A follower of Eisheth would be needed to tend him. I handed Suzi enough to cover the cost. "Will you please make sure he gets treated Suzi? And don't let him take advantage. I think he's looking for an easy lay."

I took the offered coins and I nodded, "I will see to it. Learn to laugh at life, Hal..." I jumped up on my tip toes to lay a kiss on his cheek. I wanted him to have a happy memory before he left. I wasn't looking forward to taking the guy to the Eisheth temple, and I hoped that I could get someone else to do it instead. I waved goodbye to Hal before turning back to the Laughing Parot.
