Name: Bellamy “Bell” nó Eglantine
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Height: 5’9”
Race: D’Angeline
Home Province: L’Agnace
Appearance:
Bell is a man who has laugh lines written all over his features, complimented by his continually cheerful smile as well as continually joyful and laughing blue eyes. His eyes are what people notice first about him, for they are extremely bright and lively and stand out like the dots on die. It’s easy to see that he is a happy man and entirely content with his current place in life. Bell stands at 5’9”, which he considers just the right height for himself—not too tall and not too short. He has dark blonde hair that is borderline brown, cut short at the nape and swept back away from his face. He normally dresses casually and in clothes that are easy to move around in. His body is relatively built thanks to the handstands and tumbles he likes to perform on a daily basis to amuse himself and others. His main flaw are his fingers, which are calloused from overplaying his mandolin to the point his fingers get raw.
Marque; His marquee is complete, and while he is not a man to consistently show off his back, he does adore it and displays it whenever possible. Like the Eglantine base, he has a butterfly on his back, but intertwined in the design of the butterflies wings are music notes and his mandolin, hidden discreetly within.
History:
Bellamy was the lovechild of two young musicians both at the age of nineteen at the time they had him. His parents were very much in love and vowed that they would strike it rich and one day and make a name for themselves. However, times were hard for traveling, young musicians and they found the burden of having a child to be too much. His mother was too prideful to return to her parents and tell them that they needed help, especially after she had eloped with her young lover and had shrieked would be famous one day. Growing up on the road with barely enough food was not the life she wanted for her baby, but his parents pushed on, trying to make it work. He grew up under his parents’ brilliant tutelage for music and song and taught him all they knew, but at age seven, his parents made the heart breaking decision to bring him to Eglantine House. He was already very gifted with the mandolin and with small tumbles and hand stands. While he was not an adorable child, the Dowayne at the time could tell that with time, he was slowly flowering into one.
The Dowayne took him under his wing and Bell was left with only his father’s mandolin at hand. He soon learned to love Eglantine House however and did not grow bitter at what others may have seen as abandonment. He was always an outgoing child and made friends quickly and on his debut, he fetched a high price both for his talents and for the looks that he had certainly grown into. He finished his marque quicker than most for he was one who aimed to please and had an empathetic talent and ability to quickly put a smile on one’s face. He was consistently dedicated to Eglantine House and never did anything he knew would dishonor it. However, his silly and goofy nature kept him from succeeding in the House’s ranks and Calandria no Eglantine was chosen as the Second instead of him. However, at age thirty-one when his good friend Calandria became the Dowayne, she asked him to be her Second and he agreed in a heartbeat.
After he finished his marque, he continued taking assignations until he reached the age of thirty. Afterwards, he felt he was too old to be truly desirable and did not want to be disappointed if no patrons called upon him and decided to, in a way, retire himself, though he does make considerations from time to time depending on the person he does not take assignations as often as he used to. To him, there has always been something sweet with sharing a bed with someone and he thoroughly enjoys his assignations, but felt he did not want to disappoint, as well as wanted to spend his time focusing on other things. Despite this, he does not want to leave Eglantine House and sees all the younger adepts as his little “chickies” as if he were a mother duckling of sorts. Actually, he sees almost every adept in that way and not just those in his House. He spends most of his time helping out younger adepts, whether or not they are of Eglantine House. He is absolutely in love with his House and would not have grown up in any other way other than the Service of Naamah.
Bell grew up consistently cheerful and is one who is not quick to be put into anger, jealousy or sorrow for happiness fits his like a glove. He is the kind of person that can enter a conversation and change it just into the mood that he likes with his antics and his performances. He is known for randomly bursting into a crowd with a jig on his mandolin or bursting into a serenade about twincestual frogs. He tends to be goofy and silly, but he knows normally when to not cross the line and can be serious, but only if he absolutely needs to. This silliness has translated into him being a harmless flirt, for he loves groping and serenading and making people uncomfortable so that they will loosen up, but most of all, put a smile on someone’s face. He receives no better satisfaction than that, especially when people are having a tough day. He often creates songs on the spot and small monologues for entertainment for he hates awkward, silent situations, meetings and any serious business. He is a music man, a jack of all trades and an entertainer.
Sometimes, he does not know exactly where to stop and is counted for as immature. The one thing about Bell is that he has never been in love a day in his life. While he has had a multiple of assignations, he is the kind of man who is consistently pining over a certain young man or woman for the entirety of his life. He speaks his true emotions through silly songs, of course, to the point that the one who is the center of his affection thinks it is only a joke on his part. While he is one completely empathetic to one’s feelings and can also pinpoint the first signs of lust, he is absolutely unable to tell when someone has affections for him unless it hits him in the face. He tends to be oblivious of those who have any feelings for him or when he does realize it, he does not know how to act. So, it leaves him continually pining over a multiple people in hopes that one day they will have such feelings back. A mere sweet nothing or touch can set his heart aflame, for he is the kind of man to love multiple people all at once for different reasons.
Now, he is still at Eglantine House and aspires to be the Queen’s Poet one day, though of course, only in his wildest dreams. Realistically, he aims to be recognized out of the Courts for his acting and musical talents and spends his time singing at a local bar or trying out for multiple auditions hither and thither.
